Bend and -snap!-

Guess who killed her back again somehow? Yes, yes it's me. Boo, back. Boo.

Also boo is the fact that my SVH graphic novel did show up yesterday... in a flimsy envelope and this "graphic novel" is pretty flimsy itself. So naturally the front cover bent just enough to tick me off since it was $10 or so. But they're sending a new one and apparently it'll be here tomorrow. There's some household stuff going on so the recap/spoilers everywhere thing might take longer than initially planned, but it also might not. We'll see how it goes.

Now I'm off to slather myself in more Ben-Gay and knock back some knock-off Tylenol. You've been spared at least one more day from my thoughts on She-Ra S3... beyond this: why the hell aren't we just doing what Freeform does and splitting seasons in half? I read an interview with the showrunner where she considers this 2.5 and less 3, so why isn't it that? It doesn't make a huuuuuuge difference but S2 felt unfinished which I could overlook when I figured this most recent drop was the back half of the season.

I think I read somewhere that they were probably doing something of that sort to the seasons, but even so I was rather nonplussed by s2/s2a. Honestly I think it suffered from the fact that -- from what I can read between the lines -- the creators didn't originally structure the show around this kind of splitting. Even broadcast television structures its episodes around its commercial breaks starting from the script level, rather than going "surprise! we're gonna randomly chop up your episode!!"
