Update on the log all polishes project. Tell me why after *looks* 320 polishes I decided I should've been noting any of the collection names and release dates. WHY. I may abandon this any second as I've really only done it for like four polishes.

Anyway, before we hit the purples proper, we're at 322.

Further proof that I am nothing if not inconsistent, I went out of my way to describe various shades of blue, green, and even the yellows and oranges, but most of the reds are listed as "Red."

Last leg of this project... before I can go through and figure out who needs to be swatched. One thing at a time, self.

It is painful to set up a spreadsheet. I try to find their collection name if its an LE collection, but release dates are even beyond me. Good luck!

Oh good, so it's not just me flailing like an idiot. I mean that probably doesn't help, but in general it's not just me. I think for the release dates it's just for the collections that are either LE or stuff like when Zoya debuts a new collection and then it sticks around. And for all "the internet never forgets!" I must say the Internet forgets a LOT. Or hides it in safe places you can't easily find when looking for it. Rude.

I'm happy to share my spreadsheet, if that'd help, at least for the mainstream LE releases. I'm even more glad I never got into the indie game, since they pretty much only release special collections, LOL!!

BTW, I lay the blame completely at your feet that I ordered 600 swatch sticks, 2 oz of thinner, and today bought a label maker 😂😂😂 I only have ~350 polishes but going through my posts last night I realized how many of them I've forgotten about! Time to get the army in order again.

Spreadsheet, spreadsheet! There's a reason I only tiptoe around the fringes of indie world. I snag a couple of them here and there (come back to me, drugstore polishes! It's too expensive without you.) but people who go ALL in on them? I couldn't. Not least of which is because it is impossible to figure out which makers are godawful human beings and which aren't. At least when buying SH or something you just go with "corporations are evil but not everyone in the corporation is evil" thing. When it's one or two people doing all the things I find morality kicks in more. Blergh.


YES! JOIN ME. We can label all the polish sticks together! Ozma promises to send fluff your way. She's currently sleeping on my left arm so I can't finish my purple section.

Yeah, the indie world does seem to have more than its fair share of wank, just in general. Looking at swatch sticks last night, there was lots of talk about using "dip powders" which is beyond me but apparently also a Big Thing. The possibility of wank is endless, I'm sure!

LOL I will definitely be labeling sticks before I swatch them, because my dumb ass would definitely mix things up very, very easily if I don't. I need to reorganize my Helmer, too, so might as well make this as big a project as I can!

I think I'll sit out the dip powders. Gotta draw the line somewhere. Even if the line is very pretty. I wound up in an indie polish FB group that's basically where grudges go to die. It has been both exhausting (it was new when I joined and got nuked at least once, with the owner of said group being perma-banned by FB) and entertaining as hell.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh. I mixed up a couple of sticks even with labeling as I went and I was most pissed at myself for having to either chuck 'em or peel the label off. In my defense, I was busy watching Designing Women and got distracted. :p

I don't even know what dip powders are, but they sound complicated. This is supposed to be a fun hobby, so I'll pass, LOL.

Any mistakes can be explained by Designing Women goodness, LOL. Its hard to pay attention to much else when Julia & co are distracting you!
