ugh

I shall try to do this as lightly as possible so I don't sink into a funk. I believe I mentioned B quit so it's back to just me. Not only was that true, but come the weekend, turns out the gas stations closed again so we had every idiot who'd normally go there as well. There's a thing on the register where you can find out how many customers you've rung up since the start of your shift, or since end of day if that runs after your shift starts, and on a normal day I hit around 100 people by the end of my shift. It's probably been a little higher since restrictions lifted and the food & bev people have been forced to come in as all the grocery stores are closed and their food options are limited but still. Friday at 2am I was at 168 and that was with P ringing up a good chunk of people and Saturday I stopped looking before 3am when it was 184 or so.

And soooooooo many people were from out of town. So many people not even trying to wear a mask while coughing all over creation. I wanted to hit anyone who made a big thing about us having single masks for sale (it's even a donation thing so it's not full muhahaha profit thing) and why should they have to buy one and blah blah blah. Dude, while I get what you mean, what I hear is that you think MY life and the lives of everyone else in this hellhole? Worth less than a $1. It's not okay and I hate that I have to say it's okay or else corporate could go allllllll the way in on me.

It is also not as reassuring as you think it is to tell me, "oh, I don't have COVID. I just smoke too much."

You're welcome. I'm not sure how Corporate thinks that having less employees is going to help save money, if they don't have enough to keep the shelves stocked and the trade moving. I don't understand business, period - it seems like it requires something other than Earth logic.

We went on Saturday afternoon, and frankly I was shocked to see two employees working in the front of the store. Apparently their shelves stay empty, especially of things on sale (because of course they do). Quite frankly, "my" Target is the same why - its so frustrating to shop and find nothing more often than what you're looking for, ugh. There's another Target nearby that I went to yesterday and I was shocked to find the shelves were fully stocked - I think I will be switching my allegiances, especially if they have recycling available!!

I think the mask complicity here is due to the proximity to Large Research University that contributed a lot to the health orders. Plus the businesses are still requiring it, not just "suggesting" it. We'll see how long that lasts, but as I said, I'm not going to stop masking up anytime soon!
