Screw you too.

Youtube is seriously overestimating how much I want to watch their videos if they think I'm gonna disable my adblockers that keep them from spamming me with ads longer than the video I wanna watch. I've currently got a workaround but I'm drawing a damn blank on what I normally watch or listen to since it involves me being logged out of my YT account. So... guess we won't be watching, huh?

Which leaves me time to bitch about work.

Not sure where we left off in the tales of the unprofessional SFLs, but currently we have three. We lost Newbie when she no called/no showed, and then we got New-New who started Sunday night. She joins Spacey and Sleepy. Sleepy has driven me bonkers nearly every other week because she'll disappear outside for a 15 or a smoke break or her lunch and she will fall asleep nearly every time. I don't have a real problem with Spacey but I get why people do.

I was hoping that New-New would be cool but those hopes were dashed around two hours into the Sunday shift (which I wasn't present for as it's my day off) when my coworker A texted me to tell me Sleepy hadn't shown up (she had but we'll get to that) and that New-New and Spacey absolutely hate one another.

Two hours into the shift, guys. ;_;

The very tl;dr is: Spacey didn't realize NN was only new to our store but has been at the company for ages, so she doesn't really need to be taught the ropes... and her competence kinda highlights how NOT trained Spacey was. So Spacey got defensive real quick and things went to shit.

Also, Sleepy didn't NCNS; she was in her car asleep and had been since 8:30. Someone mentioned they saw her car and Spacey, I think, went out to wake her up.

Tuesday morning (so the next day) ends in NN and Spacey yelling at one another behind photo (so on the sales floor essentially) while the photo cashier is blocked in. They're SO loud that my fav pharmacy tech has to grab C from the sales floor (she's currently kinda deaf) and take her up front to try and break it up. A customer is in line and comments that a manager really should break that up. John, the photo guy, says, "they ARE the managers."

Tuesday night I go in and everyone's avoiding the office. I need to get my headset and when I do, the store manager and Spacey are talking. SM is normally quieter than I am at work... but Spacey says something and I watch as the final bit of his patience goes up in smoke. He raises his voice (not to be confused with yelling. I think everyone else on the shift talks louder than this dude's You're Fucked voice) and I grab my shit and RUN.

Spacey leaves early after obviously spending time crying. She doesn't come in Wednesday night. She does come in last night.

And she and New New don't talk. They don't talk much about each other either, though both will make veiled comments (Spacey more than NN) about the other. It's fine.

Until A and I realized that our morning cashier hasn't shown up and she's almost always early. We decide to tell Spacey because I thought she had the cashier's number. She didn't and she immediately plays the petty card. "Normally I'd stay up here until Cashier comes but since THEY don't want me on the register, I guess I can't do that."

Ma'am. That's not punishing the people you're mad at, it's punishing US. How the fuck is that right? Also, you know damn well that's not what he meant! The ice cream delivery shows up and takes her away, so A and I confer and I go tell NN about the problem. Only before I get all the way down to her cart, she comes closer and says, "I don't know who -male version of Cashier's name- is but they called out."

Keep in mind it's after 6am now. Maybe 6:05? Maybe a little later? She then looks closer at her phone and says, "Oh, E. -Cashier's name- called out." I ask when. She peers at the phone and says 5:50. Um... the fuck? Still, I think maybe she got distracted and lost track of time, so I let it go. I'm still not sure if J called the store and got NN on the phone or if she texted the store manager, because apparently the SM sent NN a text asking if she'd stay an extra 30 or so minutes. Still. She asks what's normally done and I ask her who comes in. She pulls up the schedule and I scroll down and tell her that her SFL relief is scheduled for 7 but it'll really be 7:30 and then L shows up at 8, but she takes the bus.

Still after 6am, when A and I both are supposed to leave. When she asks again what they usually do, I start to tell her that the SFL goes up front and waits for the next person, but she cuts me off and starts complaining about how tired she is, how much her back hurts, how hungry she is because she still hasn't gotten a lunch, and then tries to ask if I got a lunch but before she does, she actually says, "and you didn't even do anything" and I pray to all that is holy that that was just tired word salad because if she really thinks I didn't do shit, we are gonna have problems. It becomes very clear that she has no intention of either going up front OR just talking to Spacey to work shit out, so I go back up front and let them know that J called out.

Spacey takes a second and then asks how I know, very suspicious like I knew the whole time. I explain what just happened (about the call out portion) and that I'm not sure how J let people know. As I'm explaining this, the backdoor rings and I know it's the food truck.

So you've got Spacey who was in the middle of doing the floor (I told her to do that shit between 2-4, but did she listen?), NN who clearly wants a break, and neither is willing to watch the front even though that's their fucking JOB.

It should've been an easy fix. NN should know how to bring in the truck, so Spacey shoulda been on register. If NN didn't know, Spacey could've at least let the truck in, then put all the cold stuff in the cooler/freezer, and waited for the next person, then let NN go take her lunch.

Instead, according to A, Spacey was maybe bringing in the truck while NN was out on the floor doing...dunno what, and then it later turned into yet another yelling match. Just... fucking take two minutes to say hey, this happened, next time tell us when someone calls out, and now we need to do this.

A wound up staying til quarter to 8. There was no fucking reason for that to happen and it only did because the morning SFL refuses to leave earlier to deal with traffic and because the overnight SFLs can't be adults.

JESUS.

Ironically enough both are super Christian so listening to them complain about the other is... oof.

Oh. I got to leave earlier than A because she was nice and let me escape.
