If you've got $300 to blow and an intense desire to buy one, starting tomorrow Berry members and whatever the Mattel Creations Barbie fanclub can preorder/buy the Barbie/AG collab. Ooh. Ahh. Limit 3. I'm trying to figure out if this is odd enough to lure the bots and resellers or if they'll decide yeah, no. *muse* She's made to order which means she's not scheduled to be shipped out til November 30, 2024. I'm honestly surprised it took so long for them to rope AG into Barbie mania, but given the FIVE other limited edition dolls and Lila's early launch, I get it. I do wish that we'd gotten one of the Barbie movie fashions instead of just the doll BUT I will concede that the doll is very cute. I'm still not in love with the current classic mold but the pink mouth kind of negates the weirdness I've been finding with the mold lately, or maybe they found a not quite melty-mouth mold. Dunno. She's cute. She's not $300 worth of cute and she's very much giving me Maryellen vibes but I like ME so that's not really a problem. This being made to order and her not being shipped for a year, however, is. Not a dig at that production model, just I lack the funds and the space and all that. I love her little painted nails and earrings, but whoever wrote the copy is on crack if they think her lips are red. The finished doll might have red lips, but the doll shown has pink.
$300 for a bathing suit covered in the most Swarovski crystals on an AG doll to date. The price on this one really feels like someone was trying to see just how far they could push things.
