Today keeps trying to kill me
There I was, minding my own business when I thought to myself, "I should turn the TV off." So I wander over there and as I'm about to put my foot down I notice something metallic underfoot. I swing my foot backwards and lean over to spy...
Widget's Swiss Army knife open, blade side up, just waiting to slice my foot off.
I don't think I can repeat that enough. Slice. My. Foot. OFF. BLADE SIDE UP. PAIN.
WHY.
WHY?
I picked it up and tried not to shudder too much at the thought of one of the dogs getting there before me, especially Lady who is prone to flopping down on blankets because it's her nesting instinct. But she's probably smarter than I am and would have looked more thoroughly.
I might still be shaken.
Just a tad.
This, children, is why you do not give children (and at under 13 he's still very much a child, particularly since I think he was gifted with this a few years ago) something dangerous without clearing it with their parents/guardians first. He left this hidden in a blanket where only my magpie skills saved me from an evening in the ER.
I am now having flashbacks to the time I stepped on a drafting compass. Which is not really something you should do, btw. Like, ever.
