(no subject)

Why do you lot let me watch Barbie stuff when I'm feeling a bit under the weather? Then I go and think, "huh, I wonder what Barbies are out now?" and the next thing you know I'm eying a cart full of dolls and debating whether I actually want them or if it's just the high from watching the latest round of whatever.

Except I actually genuinely know I want this one.

I think it'd be more of a no-brainer if the dolls were more articulated but they aren't. But they're cute! But I haven't really got the space. But it'd kind of tick off two from my wanting to buy in the future. *muse*

Annnnnnd it's been a couple of days since I started this post and I went ahead and ordered a Stacie, Skipper, and Barbie. To be fair, I actually ordered two Stacies and Skippers because I like the outfits more on one pair and the other pair is articulated. So we'll see if I feel like head swapping (that's still a thing, right?) or just outfit stealing or hell, perhaps they can all live here. WHO KNOWS. I do wish the Daisy dolls looked less "meh" facially. Or maybe just a smidge bitchier. Something. Give me something, Mattel!

Oh. AG's being called out again for copying someone's likeness and using their story in doll form without giving credit. Amanda Gorman this time. I suffered through two paraphrased articles (one far better than the other) with some glaringly wrong info and since AG fandom will attack anything that dares get the name of the company wrong (I mean, really, how fucking hard is fact checking that?) I figure I'll just go around and share the actual article they all get their info from anyway. It's at the start of the Vogue interview so if you don't want to read it all, you don't have to. It's also not the focus of the piece, obviously.

Reading the FB 'discussion' that arose after the first discussion was nuked (apparently by the person who posted it to the group) was painful as most FB things are. But it was interesting how many people believed her based on just the headline alone versus how many people went IN on Lucianne for her Luciana claims. I mean if nothing else, they could both just point to Tenney and point out that anyone with a goddamn brain can see she's meant to cash in on Taylor Swift and I had to close things down when someone even mentioned as much and another person went "nah, she's like, more Carrie Underwood because I don't think Taylor's country."

FFS, the planet is populated by friggin morons and they all seem to be drawn to AG. :P

Which is a roundabout way of saying I have no idea how I feel about said claim (she's not suing) other than AG obviously knew who she was since they had her speak/perform at Gabby's launch. Poor Blaire's out here feeling left out since Joss had parts of her story modeled on at least two different people that AG acknowledged, Luci's got that lawsuit, Tenney's previously mentioned TSwift vibes, and Kira's obviously Izzy and Bindi thrown into a blender. Won't someone think about Blaire?! :P
