Ugh. Amazon may be many, many terrible things (and they are) but at least their pre-orders are relatively hassle free. Yes, some things may not come in on time (still waiting on Kid!Loki Funko) but after my brief experience trying to pre-order a Target exclusive, I kind of want to tell Target in general to go straight to hell. Not sure if I just expect more from Target and so when they let me down it feels personal or what but JFC.
Thanks to Christmas shopping, I'd finally managed to accrue Circle Rewards. Which I then used towards the Hawkeye Kate Bishop ugly sweater exclusive pre-order. That left a buck o' five to be put on my card. Which was available at the time and for awhile after. They obviously put a hold on it at that time and I didn't think anymore about it beyond debating going back for the Clint version, too. Yeah, Saturday morning I notice an email saying there's an issue with the payment and I need to update it to keep my order.
o_O Sooooooo I venture out in the daylight Sunday to put my Christmas cash (woo) in my bank account and then pay my Target card. But it's still freaking out and when I try to update it, it's trying to charge me the full price instead of my 1.05. Sooooo I ask for help via chat, not expecting it to actually be working. It was! And for about five minutes things seemed to be going well. Until I specifically asked if there was anything more I needed to do since the card had money (seriously, just take your 1.05, Target, or leave it be until March or April when Kate comes in. Wtf. This ongoing nonsense is going to drive me bonkers.) and suddenly it's no longer something they can help me with and I have to contact my card issuer. Which is, y'know, Target. Um... not helpful, thanks. So I contact them. And get a reply too late that is basically, "yeaaaaaaaaaaaah, that's not our area, you gotta talk to the regular Target customer service." THEY SENT ME TO YOU.
At that point they'd cancelled my order anyway but since my rewards were back in my account, I just put the order through again and told myself that we are never, evergetting back together doing another pre-order unless I have no plans to use my Target card until said pre-order ships.
ugh.
In further CS issues news, I'm a bit worried my Christmas present from Mom hasn't shown any sign of movement while other people have been happily shrieking with joy over their orders shipping same day. Also, gonna have to talk to someone at AG anyway most likely as they promised to send me a check more than a month ago when my Rewards wouldn't work (because they refuse to make their site in anyway easy to use) annnnnnnnd still no check. I was content to wait for awhile because I'd imagine this is absolutely their busiest time of the year but it's been a month.
Okay, time to go be productive for a bit (let's see if I can gather up the nail polish in my room and put it in the box I bought weeks ago) and then resume being a lump.
Btw, for those keeping track (future!me), I worked my usual work week last week and of those five days, I worked one and a half with someone else. The other three, including Christmas Eve and Christmas, I worked by myself.
