Rory/Jess/Dean
I'm apparently in the vast minority on the subject of Rory's love life.
Before we get too far in, I'd like to say a couple of things.
1- I realize it's a TV show, so I'm not off my rocker, and I'm only commenting on this after a morning/early afternoon spent at Stars Hollow.
2- I do not hate Jess so much as I dislike the idea of him with Rory. This is not to say I would be heartbroken if he left the show. I wouldn't. In fact, I'd probably throw some confetti and sing a chorus of "ding dong, the bitch is dead" just to piss people off. Well, no. I'd sing it cuz it's fun. ;)
Moving right along.
Rory's relationship w/Jess bothers me for a variety of reasons. One of which is the fact that they began it while Dean was still in the picture. I could deal with that if the Jess fanatics [as a whole. Not singling any out as I don't converse with any that I know of] didn't gloss over this fact, or act like that's all peachy keen because Dean was a jerk. Wasn't Dean just a jerk after Jess arrived and was obviously interested in Rory? *shrug* Yeah, perhaps being overly posessive is not the way to keep a girl, but it doesn't give her the right to treat 'im like crap. Which is, again glossed over. So, I'm wondering.
Have these people never been the Dean [to varying degrees here. I'm not suggesting sex changes for all the girls.] in a relationship like that? Has no one they've set their sights on ever fallen for someone else while refusing to let you have your freedom ["it's funny, I don't remember being chained.."] ? Or were they the Jess/Rory, or have they just had the most perfect relationships that end in a mutual "hey, that was fun. Good luck" parting?
Cuz, heaven help me, if the person I was dating went and made googly eyes at another person, kissed them, and pretty much treated me like crap, I'd let 'em have it too. I would not be all snuggly and cute, which Dean did at times. Yet that's all forgotten because Jess is soo cute.
Also, I finally figured out what bothered me about Jess, other than the fact that he's a wanna-bad-boi-be: He talks out of the corner of his mouth. ;)
