AG goodies
Over the weekend my boxes of goodness came in. At the same time! From Amazon we received GothiePie (Equestria Girls Pinkie Pie with black streaks in her hair. She's a Target exclusive but that's never stopped Amazon) and Thor & Loki's Excellent Adventure (Thor The Dark World). AG was the first of my free shipping orders. Other than quickly peeking to make sure everything that should have been there was, I ignored them until Monday.
And then my day was upended by needing to resume cleaning so... nothing much was done until Cass brought by my small shopping bag of AG goodness from the Atlanta store. I'd asked her to pick up the store exclusive pajamas, store exclusive shorts, and the PWP if it didn't suck. While she was there I asked for a second of Isabelle's white leotards but they were out and while they would have shipped it to me for free, I would have had to pay tax and since I'm going to make another FS order anyway... it was wiser to just wait.
After Cass left (we spent most of the time oohing and ahhhing over the shiny things she picked up) I got to work deciding how to divvy up clothes. Unfortunately for picture taking, it's been rainy all week (but that's my only complaint and pics can usually wait) and then my camera told me, "You should buy batteries, dumbass" and died. So you get crappily lit photos of three outfits that will tide you over til I remember to buy batteries. :P
To refresh your memory, the box of goodies from AG contained three historical outfits (which are still awaiting a doll to wear them) and most of Isabelle's Mix n Match stuff. Her leg warmers didn't show up until yesterday so they aren't on anyone yet.
I decided to make three outfits based on the stuff I had on hand. Ivy is, if memory serves, wearing the purple leotard and sparkly sequined skirt, Sonali is wearing the white leo and tutu, and that leaves...

Kanani in the coral sweater and the sparkly skort. I was most excited about this sweater even with all the reports of it looking soft but being scratchy. It lives up to that hype, alas, so I really do hope some people on Etsy figure out how to make this in a softer version because they'll be set, man. Set. You can't tell from this picture but it's also pretty sheer. So if you put a non nude leo or something on under the sweater, you'd definitely see it in pictures. But since Nani isn't wearing anything underneath, no problem. :P
Thing is, I still think the sweater is gorgeous. And I think it's even prettier on Kanani. This is not helping me not want to buy another doll.
I don't know why I didn't realize the skort was actually a skort. It's cute but there's not enough give in the elastic to make it easily slide up over their butts and then you start to worry about the sequins popping. Nani will be getting some leg warmers to wear when I remember where I put that box.

This is when an even bigger cloud passed by and all light was poofed from the room, so the corrections are a little... off. Anyway, store exclusive pajamas! I thought the shorts were adorable and while the top was a little odd (It seems to have a similar overlay thing to Isabelle's winged pajama pants. Look at the bottom of the shirt and you'll get the idea.) I'm a sucker for doll pajamas, man.
And then I casually flicked the little overlay on the shirt and went WTF:

... I do not understand. I just... really? Why? This is giving me "nursing shirt for breastfeeding mothers" vibes not "8 year old kid wears this to sleep."
I...
I cannot assemble the words. I can't tell if I'll like it for the WTF or just kind of forget this was ever a thing.

MG is modeling the PWP shirt and hat. I have no real use for the bracelet at the moment so it's still in its bag. I think the shirt is a really lovely shade of blue and I love the little "jewel" accents on it. It's all very Kanani colored (see her Meet dress for one) but MG told me she'd look awesome in it and I didn't want to undo Nani's bun so... here we go.

I'm not a hat person but I think it's cute enough. :)

The pink shorts are store exclusives and are really soft and very cute. They're decidedly bright pink in person, too, but the pockets are actual pockets so you can slip doll money there or whatever you want. The fact that they go fairly decently with this shirt is all just a bonus. :D

I think that's called "AG cutting corners." What better way to meet profit margins, eh?
I just love Kanani - she's so pretty! And it seems like she can wear anything and make it look fabulous.

I'm pretty sure that if Kanani can't make something look good, it's got almost no shot of looking good, period. Come on, AG, make a not!Kanani already!
