*dances* Two of my three candle orders showed up yesterday. My YC order arrived first. Inside were my two jars: one large Apple Pumpkin and one medium Red Apple Wreath.
I lit Apple Pumpkin this morning and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand, I was always given the impression that YC would scent your whole damn house if you weren't careful, but a peek online has proven this to be a hit or miss statement, particularly miss worthy last year. I killed the fan completely and it burned better but we never quite reached saturation point. Which is a shame because I like both scents for the candle. Cold it smells amazing. Mums says, "Yes, apples and pumpkins" in this way that says I am particularly slow on the uptake. :P But it's more than that and is perhaps my favorite candle in the last however many eons.
Lit, however, it smells (and once more Mums is probably going to give me the "Child, when did you become so very, very dim?" look) exactly like a lit jack-o-lantern. It might not smell that way to anyone else, but to me it smells exactly like that. Probably because around Halloween we always seem to lose all of the unscented votives and are left with apple cinnamon ones and so for the last however long, my brain has associated jack-o-lanterns with apple candles, so you throw apple and pumpkin together with fire in any combo and my brain thinks, "Halloween! Grab all the candy!"
I may take my tiny votive version of this and chop it up (ohnoes!) and melt it that way just for kicks. Red Apple Wreath smells different than it did at the store, but I'm going to guess that it just didn't travel quite as well as Apple Pumpkin. So I'm going to give it another day or so to settle.
Much later, my B&BW order (the first) arrived. Inside was my Black Cherry Merlot lotion that smells just as good as I remembered from last year. I bought it to take to work so my hands won't dry out as much and also because apparently B&BW seems to believe that I would very much like to spend $5 on a tiny little tube instead of just giving me what I (and others) want and super sizing that scent. Boo. Hiss.
My two candles were Leaves and Marshmallow Fireside and both seem exceptionally strong after their journey. I'm waiting a little bit longer to try either one of them, I think, but we'll see. I have a gazillion matches... *whistles*
Annnnnd it appears my second order, the one I placed uh... Saturday? Is being delivered today. :D A day earlier than anticipated! Let's see, which ones did I choose for that since it was a sale?
Autumn, Harvest Gathering, Caramel Pumpkin Swirl, Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow, and a second Leaves.
