Oh, crafty, crafty Halloween

I am weak in the face of the entity known as the craft store. Some people refer to these places by their store names, but for me they're simply places where I go and see all these awesome [and awesomely lame] ideas and think, for one shining moment, "Hey! I could do that!" and realize when I get home that no, no I could not.

And somehow I managed to sneak out of the first one after paying a little over twenty bucks. For me? That's pretty good. Two bags, one so full that the handles broke/tore when we got home. But then came the second store, and I think I spent a couple of bucks more and got much, much less. Stupid effing Michaels. How hard is it to have tissue paper? The nephew had been a complete pain at AC Moore, but was a delight at Michael's, however I knew he couldn't last a third stop, so... I had to settle for this weird jumbo pack of tissue paper. And naturally, guess who doesn't have double sided tape? Ah, well. The nephew's cute, though, as he and I both stared in fascination at all the things going whirl, and whoo, and ooooooh in the various aisles of seasonal stuff.

The goal of these trips was to find some activity stuff for the Widge and I to do together that would ultimately result in Halloween goodness. Not entirely sure how well that panned out, but I did snag a few things. And I fell in love with those Martha Stewart hole/paper punches that do the fun Halloweeny shapes. Couldn't justify ten bucks though. Had I remembered that there was indeed a Michael's coupon [and I looked for it, dammit! How did I miss it?] I would have gotten it for half off. Might still attempt that little trick...

Anyway, I can't say fun was had the entire time, but... it was a different way to spend the afternoon. Note to self: AC Moore is easier to find stuff in, but Michael's has real air conditioning.

And I never realized this, but holy hell, North Charleston is an inferno. I thought I was imagining things when I got out of the car and it felt ten degrees warmer than when we'd left, but when we came home, the same thing happened. So, um, sucks to be you, N. Chas. Sucks to be you.

Okay, I'm off to inventory my stuff, try and clean up a smidge in my room, and oh, yeah, find my various things I might need to get my ID. Frick, of course my face is being splotchy today. Still...I shall remain positive. Until after the trip. And then, well, it's back to normal for me.

Did you get ghostgirl yet? I hope all these damn hurricanes didn't delay it. Stupid post office. Through rain and snow and sleet is a LIE. LOL!

I did! I had a whole glowing thing about it, and I think my computer ate that post and I didn't realize it. Might've been the one where the computer was restarted in the midst and the save didn't catch it. So, I shall gush here: Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou! :D My nephew was all kinds of, "ooooooooooooooooooh" and so was I. So I had to find some place way up high until I read it so he doesn't run away with it. *hug*
