still wishing T a happy birthday!

I don't watch things on Fox. I've tried over the years. Some things I make exceptions for, knowing full well that my heart will be broken (Dollhouse) but mostly, after the great cancellation of Wonderfalls and Firefly (and I would still gladly give most shows I've loved since for more of Wonderfalls) I realized that Fox is very, very good at pinpointing the geek heart and then throwing it away when the geeks don't manage to get them the ratings they seem to believe they should have.

We've discussed this before. It's a self perpetuating cycle, really. If we don't watch, the shows will be canceled. But if the shows are canceled, we will not watch. Over and over this plays out and I mostly refuse to join in these days.

Also: I can't generally watch people sing. It's one of the numerous reasons I never watch American Idol (that and a general feeling of not giving a right royal damn) and why I didn't cave and watch Glee. I figure if I have enough problems with musical episodes of various other shows, an entire series built on this would be torture for me.

I was wrong. I was so painfully wrong that there are not words to express this properly.

Still.

It's Fox. Bastards.

I thought I would hate Glee too, since it looked like those things that try to be oh-so-clever and geeky-hip (Juno, Nap Dynamite, etc), but it's sucked me in, as well. And it looks like it might not even be cancelled for a little while!

If nothing else it seems to have a gazillion fans of the celebrity sort and that never hurts.

Frickin' Fox. Just when I've managed to almost quit them completely, they suck me back in.
