I don't watch things on Fox. I've tried over the years. Some things I make exceptions for, knowing full well that my heart will be broken (Dollhouse) but mostly, after the great cancellation of Wonderfalls and Firefly (and I would still gladly give most shows I've loved since for more of Wonderfalls) I realized that Fox is very, very good at pinpointing the geek heart and then throwing it away when the geeks don't manage to get them the ratings they seem to believe they should have.

We've discussed this before. It's a self perpetuating cycle, really. If we don't watch, the shows will be canceled. But if the shows are canceled, we will not watch. Over and over this plays out and I mostly refuse to join in these days.

Also: I can't generally watch people sing. It's one of the numerous reasons I never watch American Idol (that and a general feeling of not giving a right royal damn) and why I didn't cave and watch Glee. I figure if I have enough problems with musical episodes of various other shows, an entire series built on this would be torture for me.

I was wrong. I was so painfully wrong that there are not words to express this properly.

Still.

It's Fox. Bastards.

I thought I would hate Glee too, since it looked like those things that try to be oh-so-clever and geeky-hip (Juno, Nap Dynamite, etc), but it's sucked me in, as well. And it looks like it might not even be cancelled for a little while!

If nothing else it seems to have a gazillion fans of the celebrity sort and that never hurts.

Frickin' Fox. Just when I've managed to almost quit them completely, they suck me back in.

Well, at least Dollhouse appears to be getting what qualifies for two whole seasons nowadays. That's more than Wonderfalls or Firefly got.

I'm amazed that Bones is still on the air. Not because it sucks or anything but because it's on Fox and I love it. It should have died a long time ago, but it's on its 5th season.

If you don't like watching people sing, you would really dislike Glee (or at least the first episode, which is all that I've watched) because their lips don't match the music well enough. It is the actual actors singing, but they're lip syncing. It was way to obvious and annoying in the episode I watched. Plus the sound quality of the music tracks didn't match the sound quality of the dialogue, which also bugs me. This is why I have a hard time with musicals on film a lot of the time.

I keep forgetting that Bones is on Fox for some reason. I shouldn't because the trailers and things always catch my eye, but it never really connects for some odd reason.

From the episodes I've binged on, I think for the most part I'm going to have to pretend half the hook of the performances is similar to any musical number in a movie. Tada! People instantly know the choreography and the lyrics and the magic of auto tune!

If I ignore that part or pretend that's half the fun, then I enjoy it. Of course, it's been about three days. :p
