I think my headache is slowly stabilizing, so let's chat about Pretty Little Liars and the big A reveal. I'm not sure any of you watch PLL (it's on Netflix so you can binge if you want to) and it's been eons since I did a PLL roundup but I'm pretty sure the reveal of the ultimate big bad deserves some discussion.
Obviously this means there will be spoilers. And ranting because holy mackerel, does this show runner make Brad Kern look completely trustworthy. Almost, anyway.

Feb. 3rd, 2011 11:07 amI now understand why most of the people who have Comic Con Frankie (the black and white version) tend to question whether or not to de-box her. In general, the MH dolls look fantastic in their boxes. Presentation gets a 10, normally speaking. But CC Frankie? Yeah. The metalic sheen to everything cranks that up to 11. I think I like the whole thing more than I might like the doll herself, but I'm not entirely sure since I just got her Saturday.

For those who are interested, no Holly aside from her name in the credits. That aside, it was a pretty good episode to come back on. It managed to mix enough background info with new stuff so that it prodded your memory and gave you something new to think about for next week.

Jan. 2nd, 2011 11:18 pm Damn, it's been awhile since the last one of these, huh? But Pretty Little Liars returns tomorrow night (7:58PM) for its winter run. And you know what that means, right? That's right. Holly on PLL. Sadly I slacked most of their off-time because, well, I had other things to occupy my time and because I'm a slacker by nature.
But in time for PLL's return to TV, I bring you Holly pics. None are spoilery so no cuts for you.
1x17: The New Normal:
First order of business, most of those pictures suck. Sorry. It's what I could find. If I find others, I'll either add/replace, depending on what comes up. Second order of business, damn she's still pretty. And third, I cannot freakin' wait for tomorrow night. Well, I can, because I don't want my days off to go by so quickly, but it's still pretty exciting. :D
If you don't have work or something else to do, there's a marathon starting tomorrow at 11am catching you right up until the premiere (which repeats at 10 if you miss it). And if you never started watching the show, you should. It's got its moments of really sweet and really funny, and there's a mystery or two afoot and you've got Ashley Benson as Hanna and she's awesome, and you've got Holly. Who is Holly.

But now it's "Frankie this" and "Melody that" . . . these new girls sure know how to get her lashes in a tangle. When Cleo lands a Golden Teen Vogue photo opp for her friends everything seems to be back on track...until they bail to be in some film . . . Frankie and Melody's film! Can't a royal get some loyal?

Frankie lost her head over Brett once and vows never to do it again. Not that she has a choice. Bekka is clinging to her guy like saran. But when Brett comes up with a plan that could help the RADS live freely, sparks fly. And Bekka will stop at nothing to put out their flames. Even if it means destroying the entire monster community.
Melody:
The clock is tick-tick-ticking away. Melody has a serious deadline to save her boyfriend, Jackson, from being exposed by the vengeance-seeking Bekka. But Cleo is making it royally difficult for the normie while threatening her acceptance into their exclusive group. A group that melody suspects she has more in common with than she even thought.
Weird. I have so very little desire to read the MH book now that so many people have died from the attempt, but this second one (April 2011) doesn't sound so bad. of course, the problem with LH and me has always been her... fanciful use of the language. Maybe I'll check and see if Louisa has it in stock. (The Book Exchange has a cat. I buy books there not because it's cheaper, as it isn't always that much cheaper, but to keep a roof over Louisa's pretty little head.)

No spoilers, really, other than to say Yay for Mrs. Hastings! And I never thought I'd be able to say that. So strange and yet... it's true.

I'm sure I've said it before, but damn this show is pretty. Not just the cast but the way it's shot.
Moving along, rescued yesterday's mail this morning and I think my Charmed comics have finally appeared. I'm afraid to open that particular package since it was a little bent and sat in the rain all night. ;_; Also, I was distracted by this small tube that was in the mailbox, also from the same place my comics are being shipped. It's another Paige action figure. The exact. Same. One. I don't even know why I would need two. Did they intentionally send me two? Will I be getting an email requesting the second one be returned? I really wish they'd sent Piper or even Feebs or hell, a different Paige.
Looks like Clawdeen will have to wait (unless Amazon gets her back in stock) because they're retiring stuff I want from AG and I do have money squirreled away for just such an occasion. Still not 100% positive on some of the things, but I snagged what I wanted enough to pay full price on, and one thing that ebay turned up cheaper without any real effort on my part. Don't have a ton of money for shiny things, but I had enough for this. Just have to remember not to go insane on anything come pay day aside from...
Do you know what time it is? It's September Issue Time! It's the time of year when I buy just about every damn semi-fashion magazine because the powers that be bust their asses to make a fan-freakin'-tastic issue. Oooh. Tingles!
Ari made me this mix CD for my birthday and it's eerie how many songs on it I already loved and how many I do love. The fact that she added one of my favorite Dixie Chicks songs (not that there are a ton, but that makes it even more impressive) right in the thick of songs I love? *purrs* The first half of the CD is amazing. The second half I haven't had as much time to listen to just yet. The only downside to this mix is that there are a lot, lot, lot of sad songs or songs that you could pretend are sad.

A) I've been reading. I had my mind blown by the last PLL book Wanted even though some ASSHOLE on ABC Family's site had spoiled the goddamned thing for me. I hope those people are in kneecap breaking situations and theirs shatter. It does make me wonder whether the books and TV show will have the same ultimate A and how they'll deal with ( I'm not kidding, there are spoilers. )
With that out of the way, I've also been rejoicing in having ink in the printer once more. Huzzah! And I've been busy. I need sleep now, otherwise I'd go into more of it. I will say that LKH really does seem to believe that she should be writing the way Mojo Jojo speaks.
Make statement. Have someone question statement in a "what do you mean, ___ is ___?" way. Restate the statement. RESTATE again. End with, "So what I'm hearing you say is..." Don't judge me. My library shelf has been super empty lately and I finished my PLL book and the China Book and I'm keeping Your Roots Are Showing as something to swish away the foul taste of Flirt and Bullet.

Ventured to Walmart to see if they had Monster High. They did not. I checked the DVDs to see if they had any more Ginger Snaps. Not only did they not have any, they also didn't have anything that wasn't Bluray in the bargain section. Well. They had Season 1 of the Office and Friday Night Lights. But aside from that, nothing! And while it's entirely possible I would love FNL, I do not want to further doom this show by liking it before it is over. (I am a jinx in these matters.)
