Dear 2010,
You sucked in a lot of ways. But you also had your moments. So today I celebrate those and try to ignore the not so hot stuff.

Things That Didn't Suck, 2010 edition:

Sir Hoots is Hunting

Monster High
The webisodes are slightly less than two minutes of pure glee, the games are addicting (the less I think about how often I've played some of them, the better), and the dolls are amazing. I often think I might like doubles of certain things, but this is a line where I would honestly buy them if I could only find them. I love their little pets and even the book wasn't too bad, all things considered. Now all I have to do is hope that 2011 makes the dolls easier to find. That'd be awesome.
(Ghoulia and Lagoona are my favorite characters, with Lagoona being my favorite doll, hence this picture being used.)

Pretty Little Liars
This happens to be one of those rare instances where I believe the TV adaptation is as good, if not better, than the books it's based on. The Liars on the show are infinitely more likable than their book counterparts, and while Mona got shortchanged, the show also brought me back a weekly Holly fix over the summer. Bonus points are awarded for making most of the cast incredibly likable even when they do boneheaded things, and extra special bonus points are awarded for Ashley Benson as Hanna. I initially tuned in for Holly, I stay for Hanna... and Holly.

Weekly Holly is always something to celebrate, okay?

Rizzoli and Isles:
R&I started out a bit... off. It was missing something, but still intriguing. Many people have mentioned plotholes the size of small planets, but you know what? I don't notice those. It was about halfway through the pilot episode that I realized the show would work much, much better if viewed through Xena-goggles. If you watch R&I and think they're working towards pairing them together (or that they're already a couple) then it's a million times better. Thing is? Each episode improves upon the last so that you don't need the goggles to think the show is pretty frickin' awesome. The finale nearly killed me and anytime I think about it too much (the fact that I have to wait til next summer to find out what the hell happened) I get majorly impatient.

Also? Any show that brings you this:

Cannot be all bad. (Plus Bass is pretty badass.)

How To Train Your Dragon: A movie Mums, Widget, and I could all enjoy. Repeatedly.

The BSC: The Summer Before: Spotty in parts (Stacey and Claud for different reasons), but MA and Kristy shine, even if Kristy's one serious angst angle has been beaten to death at this point. It still works.

Honorable mention to Hellcats for being a total guilty pleasure in the best possible way.

There are other things, but at the moment I'm exhausted and you're lucky I remembered these. :P
