Sadly, there will be no PLL round up this week. Well, not a big one, anyway. Holly wasn't in this week's episode either, so no picturey goodness. WOE. Story wise it was kind of... there, I guess? I think my attention was diverted by other things (like being cold) so I admit that I spaced out more than I should have.
Okay. Fine.
Emily's parents invited Maya to dinner. Emily's father seems to find Maya charming but Em's mother broke down in tears during dinner, and it was not because she'd made seafood when Maya happens to be allergic. I won't lie. I fully expected them to show her spiking Maya's dinner with seafood or something. But no. She cried and later, when Emily thanked her for being okay with the Emily/Maya thing, Mama Em said she wasn't okay with it and that it made her sick. What Emily hears is "You make me sick." :/ No mockery, just absolutely sad.
The little bit with Maya and Aria was cute, and I'm glad they aren't having Maya be shunned by the PLLs. :D Y'know, like Noel is.
For good reason. Noel took off in a different direction from book!Noel and I have to admit I'm pretty bummed about this. I like Aria/Noel in the books and I was hoping he'd make a good third angle for the love triangle. BUT NO. We can't have a serious threat to the Aria/Ezra TRUE LOVE that bores me senseless even if I think they're both adorable and I say this every time. Noel attempts to blackmail Mr. Fitz into a better grade or else he'll totally spill about Fitz hooking up with Aria.
What the hell, let's move on to Spencer. Melissa and Ian eloped last episode and this episode Spence is a little weirded out by how fine her mother is taking this. And by all the crap Ian is having sent to the house while they're on their honeymoon. Alex gets recommended for some Swedish tennis tournement thing and Spencer is thrilled for him, but he doesn't want to go because he's promised to spend the summer helping his uncle and saving for college. Spence says she gets it, but doesn't really because she's not wired that way. Still, she lets it go. Too bad A doesn't. A fills in the application for Alex (or sends it in if he already had it filled in) and when they confirm it with Alex, he's pissed at Spencer. He gets mad, she's upset because if she tells him who really did send it in, she's going to have a lot of explaining to do.
Mona throws Hanna a surprise welcome home party. Problem is that she throws it at Hanna's house and Hanna's mother has hidden the money she stole from her elderly patron at the bank in the lasagna box, figuring that carbs in a house of dieters is the safest place of all. A has taken the money and leaves Hanna a bit of a threat, promising to return the money if Hanna does exactly as she's told. Random trivia, but the money being shoved into a clown at the end of the episode? Is the same bill used over and over, or at least any time the serial number is visible it's the same number.
At Hanna's party, Lucas pitches a fit about Hanna still being with Sean and he confesses (to Hanna) that he trashed Ali's memorial because she was a bitch and death did not grant her sainthood. And while I spent the entire episode up until then cringing at his actions, this scene reset the Lucas love.
Don't.
Stop.
Please.
Don't make me like you. It's too hard. - Lucas
Oh, and we return to Ali flashbacks this episode, too. Ali comes back from her grandmothers all tanned and pretty, but in reality she was in Hilton Head instead of Georgia.
Also, Toby tells Jenna that they are most decidedly over. Jenna does not take this news well.
And there you have it. Stuff happened! But didn't! But did!
And Spencer wore some amazingly odd, but cute, outfits.
Watched Easy A yesterday and was reminded that whenever you want a movie to be longer, it never is. Thumbs decidedly up because oh, how I laughed.
It's like fighting a kid that needs a telethon!
