  When the powers that be said that PLL was starting its season right where the previous one left off, they weren't really kidding. Of course, we don't linger for long. The next thing you know, our cop buddy is telling the Liars not to discuss the whole blackmail thing as well as the videos that Ian had of the girls o' the neighborhood.

Itty bitty recap times: Emily is still moving. Her mother has found someone to show the house and he, of course, makes a comment that the growth chart in Emily's room will have to be painted over. Later, when Emily is trying to facilitate a meeting between Toby and Spencer, Toby starts to remove the portion of the frame that documents Emily's height over the years. There's an incredibly sweet moment between Toby and Emily and my heart may have melted a little.

Spencer spends much of the episode being an idiot. After she returns home to find her parents and Melissa talking to cop!dude (Garrett?), Spencer doesn't waste any time in rehashing the whole "Ian's dead. Deal with it" thing. Naturally, it doesn't go over well with Melissa or their parents. Really, Spencer? There is a time and a place and all that jazz. This was neither. Later, Melissa will come to Spencer and ask to hear the church details again. I'm not sure if this is an honest effort to understand Ian's disappearance, or if she's gathering evidence to nail Spencer to the wall.

Aria and Fitz have a hard time connecting because Aria's still upset over his former fiancée... as well as the whole having a dead guy disappear thing. Oh, and Ella is moving back in.

Hanna gets a surprise visit from Caleb who explains that he left her a goodbye letter, and that he loves her, and he asks her to forgive him. She can't, yet, (since he shows up in stills from a later episode, I can hold out hope) and he leaves. This was after a cute scene where Lucas tells Caleb not to do whatever he did to hurt Hanna again. Oh, Lucas. I love you. Pissed at Mona's betrayal, Hanna hunts her down, rips into her, and is shocked when Noel Kahn shows up for his apparent date with her. Dun dun dun.

The Liars are sent to therapy where they seriously consider telling their therapist the truth. Before they can, they notice something stolen from Ezra's apartment in her office, leading them to believe that A knew they would spill their guts. After they freak out for no reason that the therapist can see, she recommends to their parents that they stop seeing one another.

Only then Spencer finds a text sent to Melissa from someone she assumes is Ian. The girls assemble and send a text back, asking something only Ian would know. Spencer chooses to ask what he and Melissa were going to name the baby. "Ian" answers correctly...

And we slide to Emily's house where we learn why you do not leave your laptop in a home that's being shown to prospective buyers. A will come in and erase your hardrive... the one with all the incriminating videos.

Oh, and I realized that I know this show a little too well at times. I could ID Spencer just from her boots.
