Pretty Little Liars: Spring Finale edition round-up
But first...:

Monsters in the End
Can someone explain why I love Mona so? She's bitchy and clueless and obnoxious to the point that I'm pretty sure rational people bang their heads on walls when she appears on screen. But at the same time, good lord, I love her for most of those reasons. Depending on A's true identity, Mona appears to have Hanna's back and is upset enough to come over to Hanna's house and declare her state of unrest and guilt before Hanna and her mother. Apparently she blames herself for the Caleb debacle because if she'd been a real friend, she'd have cock-blocked Caleb at the start of the whole flirtation. Kind of hard to do since I don't think Mona was really around at the time, but whatever. Later Mona intercepts a letter from Caleb to Hanna, and possibly out of the protective goodness of her heart (but quite probably not), she throws the letter away before Hanna ever sees it.
Which means Caleb leaves town and Hanna doesn't stop him even though you know she wants to.
Next up? Emily. The Powers that Be are still pushing the Emily/Paige thing even though I swear those two broke up more officially than Emily/Maya did. o_O Either way, Paige scores tickets to some concert and Em is thrilled until Paige lets it slip that she's having some guy come along as a decoy so her parents don't catch on. Then Paige says she contacted someone from another school to discuss her gayness, but wants Em to come along. Em goes, but Paige doesn't. Em hits it off with the girl who came to talk to Paige. Em is more than a little interested. I'm still confused as to Emily's relationship status. When did she and Maya officially break up? She and Paige started something, cooled off, picked up again, then Emily's flirting with blondie and breaking up with Paige.
Aria finds out that Ezra was previously engaged to someone. Turns out she broke off the engagement, but Aria's still unsettled. When she leaves Ezra's apartment, the weird cop who randomly appeared a couple of episodes ago (#18, I believe. Possibly 19) is watching. He goes to talk to Ezra and notices all sorts of proof that Aria was there for more than just picking up an assignment or something. Dun. Dun. DUUUUUUUUN.
Hanna is sad over Caleb.
Spencer is still lacking the good sense to keep her trap shut considering she's deemed Ian a killer and he's still living in her backyard. WTF, Spence. I thought you were the smart one. Her mother forbids her from seeing Toby, but when someone locks her in the fun house, Ian's the first person to rescue her. Which makes no sense either unless he locked her in because who the hell would imagine Spencer at the fun house?
EXACTLY.
Anyway, Spencer's family ushers her into the night and she sees Toby. For a split second you think she's going to obey her mother's wishes, but at the last second she turns back, runs to Toby, and kisses him in front of everyone still at the Founder's Day festival. I don't think I've loved Spencer more.
Finally: Ella has a moment about seven minutes in where she sees Aria talking to Caleb and mouths, "Is that the guy?" and I die. I ♥ you, HMC. I truly do.
The episode ends with the girls finding out that the snowglobe Ali gave Emily just before she disappeared had a key hidden inside of it. The key was to a storage place, and inside was a tin lunchbox that held a flashdrive. (Whatever.) On that? Videos of all the girls in the neighborhood, not just the PLLs.
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Two things, really.
One: I love Lucas. When presented with an opportunity that would probably guarentee him a shot at Hanna's affections, he turns the offer down. (Mona attempts to further keep Caleb out of Hanna's life even after she realizes that Hanna loved Caleb and Mona already knew Caleb felt the same way. Lucas busts her and she offers to help hook him up with Hanna if he won't spill. The next thing you see is Aria or Emily handing Hanna her phone back, saying Lucas found it. You think Lucas has turned to the dark side, but later on you see Caleb being driven somewhere... by Lucas. When asked why he was doing this, Lucas answers:
So unless you drove the car into Spencer's car and probably caused Melissa's baby's death or impairment, well played, Lucas. My love for you is off the charts.
Two: I knew maybe three things about this episode. One of which was that someone was going to fall/be pushed off the bell tower. And yet I'll be damned if I didn't jump when the bell actually friggin' rang.
We end our season with Ella and Byron most likely back together, Aria and Fitz up in the air, Emily's mother planning to move them to Texas for a year, Ian's (corpse is) missing, Melissa in the hospital, and most of Rosewood thinking the PLLs are, you know, liars.
And we're done til June. Sometime in the next week or so, depending on my levels of boredom, I'll pic-spam the remaining HMC pictures.
But first...:

He looked through your stuff, he didn't invade Poland.
He stuck his hands in her panty drawer!
