Sailormoon meme-bonus
I'm either going to have to give a less than truthful answer for the current question, skip it until I'm done with the series, OR... no, wait. Those are my options pretty much. Ah well. To tide you over (since I'm sure you obsessively check to see if I'm on to the next day or not), I present...
an item from my Sailormoon Collection. If you can call it that, anyway.

That's right. Sailor Venus socks. SOCKS. From Gadzooks. I don't know whether I bought these or if Mumsy did. I do know that for years if I wanted to buy my brother something that wasn't a CD (because back then DVDs did not exist, people) I just went to Gadzooks. The boy spent so much time/money there (or, more accurately, Mom spent so much money there) that when they did preview sales, the boy was always invited. It was weird.
Point is, Venus. Socks.
That I've never worn. I have them hanging on my wall. I think the time has come to wash them, gently, though since they're a little dusty.
Let's continue with the theme of "shiny things in my room!" shall we?

For those who do not know, this is Draculaura. Vegan vampire, though not always one. Her sidekick? Count Fabulous. Yes, yes he is. Ulla D (I... don't know) is adorable to the point of distraction. Her hair says "pet me!" and her outfit is nifty. Not that you can tell, what with the big bat in the way. I was most worried about ordering her online because I've found that the MH fangs on Ulla D (and she's only Ulla D to me when Count Fab is in the picture) and Clawdeen can be iffy. Sometimes they appear to have rabies, or are dribbling milk. It's probably all in my head, but these things happen.
Luckily the only thing "wrong" with mine is that her face is exceptionally shiny. You can't see it in the picture, but trust me. Or...

Don't. See? Is there.

Did I mention safety pin earrings? Oh, yes.

Frankie is pretty friggin' awesome. Before I started watching the webisodes, she was probably second on my wishlist, but too much of that "wow, 15 days old!" crap drove her further down the list. (Right above Cleo & Deuce who are merely last because of their price.) Seeing her in person? Yeah. She's definitely my second favorite. Her outfit is amazing (I wish for little changes, but I understand they wouldn't happen or wouldn't happen with a playline doll) and she's beautiful. You can't see her neckbolts, but they do exist.

Lagoona is my favorite and also the only one I paid for myself. :P (Frankie and D were presents) Mine is sadly not perfect (oh no!) but it's not her lipstick that I first noticed. It's this weird indent on her cheek. It's really, really noticeable in person but not nearly so in photos where the flash blinds you. Well played, Blue. Well played.
(I am beyond miffed that for Mattel's ad concerning the line, Lagoona got shafted in the voice department. WTH, man.)

My trio, complete with hand holding. Awwwww.
Yes. Awww.
If you wondered where the blue hell Clawdeen is, Amazon's been out of stock for awhile and I have a gift card that has her name on it. Unless I luck out and find these dolls in stores sometime this century. Then I might cave. We'll see.
Bottom line: I cannot stress this enough, I love this line. They're quirky and unusual and very, very pretty. There are some amazing details (Lagoona's face-mold being more bug eyed than the others for one) or the way their ears are all different. If you're the type who really likes a story to start your fascination, they come with little mini diaries, plus the website helps flesh them out even more. There's the book series on the horizon, although I think that's a different sort of thing than the toys/webisodes but it still exists.
They're so up my alley that I want a second set for Halloween. :P I'm really looking forward to seeing them in stores and the whole Dance line that's coming? My 80's loving self is dying. DYING.
Later we discuss what the hell is going on with the Charmed comics and also, where the hell is my copy of issue 0?
