We should close his eyes

I finally managed to see Deathly Hallows P1 and I'm honestly left wondering who loved this movie. It's moody as hell, I'll grant you that, and I imagine that for those who are so graphically inclined, it probably produces some amazing fanart. But as a cohesive story?

What in hell? 85% of the movie involves Hermione and Harry sitting around in the woods occasionally discussing how brilliant the other is, or how snitches have flesh memories.

The parts that linked all these scenes together in the book were pretty much yanked out and replaced with... "cut to H/H. In the woods. Probably cold. If Ron's there and it's before he flounces, have him glare menacingly. If it's after he's come back, have him be lovable. If he's not there, mope or dance."

I wonder if this worked better if I'd either never read the book or read it more recently?

I have never read the books, but no, it bored the pants off me. 45-50 mins of them in the wood/camping. YAWN!

The rest of the movie I loved.

Oh, good. That answers that, then. I was wondering because one of my co-workers heard that I'd be spending part of mother's day watching the movie and she was ever so enthusiastic about it. But then I saw the movie and kept glancing at the time wondering when we'd be back to something, anything, happening.
