I do think it's a bit dumb to say that only Addy can wear Addy's clothes, and also to say that the Christmas dress "obviously" references the Pan-African flag. Um, no? The dress is RED and GREEN because it's a CHRISTMAS dress and those are Christmas colors.

The Addy thing has been vexing me awhile, possibly because it's picking up steam.

As to her dress, I cannot begin to tell you the number of little girls who wore really, really similar dresses throughout my childhood to our various chorus holiday events. Because you throw a little black in with the red/green and it makes the colors pop and it looks more ~mature~ and whatnot. Plus, y'know, 80's at the time.

But it could totally be the flag thing, too. Except the flag wasn't around in Addy's time and thus nullifies that point entirely.

OMG, I'm only one page in and it's so painful. And wtf at 80?! It was only at like 20-something when I looked a few weeks ago! Yet, it was still on the same subject!! AARRGH! And now I have to figure out all this 11-year old on instagram we need to save that I'm not even sure pertains to AG?? And isn't forcing Addy to just wear her clothes racist, too? "Those are black people clothes, only black people should wear them!!" Wouldn't the school dress be kind of universal?

And the Kaya thing...urgh. Why don't we also go after Saige's belt since that's based on Indian culture? Or why don't we just not give a fuck what other people do with their dolls? Because you know what? The people that are racist or shitty people are going to be that way in every aspect of their life, so even if you can police their dolls, it's probably not going to change their core beliefs that affect, oh, every other part of their lives. Also...they're freaking dolls!! I'm part Scottish, so can I put Kaya in a kilt? Is that okay because I'm that race? And then can I outbirk if someone else made their doll Scottish, but I don't agree with which one they chose? >_>
