Rebecca's Movie Premiere Outfit // $34
image host image host
Item# FRH21
Rebecca dreams of becoming an actress one day, so she is thrilled to play a small part in a movie and be invited to the premiere! She borrows this elegant outfit from the studio costume shop for the occasion:
A tea-length dress with fancy velvet overlay, chiffon butterfly sleeves, and an embroidered belt
Ivory shoes with fleur-de-lis embroidery and ankle straps with satin bows
A coral taffeta hairbow for her curls

The only thing I'm not really sold on is the shoes and they're nice it's just they don't seem to go with the outfit color scheme wise. However, that dress. Don't tell me if it's crappy quality, don't tell me it's historically inaccurate... just let me enjoy actually desperately wanting something from Rebecca's collection. *grabby hands*
Seriously though, I have every intention of either buying this for my birthday or asking for it for the birthday. ♥

KIt's Gardening Outfit // $34
image host image host
Item#FRH27
Aunt Millie teaches Kit how to grow a vegetable garden in her backyard. When it’s time to tend to the tomatoes, Kit wears this outfit:
Striped denim overalls with pockets for storing seeds
A cheery floral-print shirt that her mother made from a feed-sack
A matching scarf to tie back her hair
Brown work boots with contrast stitching and cord laces

Oh, look. Kit's third pair of overalls. Do I dare go for the trifecta? I don't really know how I feel about this. On the one hand, her other overall outfits have been retired and honestly, Kit does need a grubbier outfit for her gardening and whatnot. On the other hand, the color of said overalls is messing with my head. I normally love grey in its many forms but this is the kind of grey that sucks all life from everything around it.
Also, to be fair, it probably doesn't help that it's the outfit being paired with the new playset for Kit that looks so plastic that it pains me. So points for Kit getting a BF outfit that isn't hideous (her new Christmas dress) or looking like something the Bitties would wear (almost anything else she's gotten since BF launched) and also points for not being sent screaming into the cube of shame just yet. Basically, if there's a sale and reviews are decent, I will probably buy.

Kit's Garden Stand // $100
image host image host

Item#FRH20
Kit grows fruit and vegetables to help her family make ends meet. She built a farm stand with Dad and sets up shop on weekends. This 44-piece set includes:
A homemade farm stand with a pretend tin roof, a counter, and shelves
Five signs that can hang on the stand to show what’s selling today
Four reversible price signs to put on the bins
A farmer’s scale with a needle that moves
Strawberries and blueberries in containers
Four apples, four bunches of carrots, and four bunches of green beans
Three bins that fit in the stand to display Kit’s vegetables
A money box and pretend money: five dollars, four metal buffalo nickels, and four metal pennies
All food items are pretend.

Welp, at this price I'm already out and somewhere Aunt Millie is face palming. However, if we ignore that and focus on the set itself I'm still at a no. The stand itself is fine, but the signage should be where this thing shines. It should make me nostalgic and bring out the more historical side of the line. It shouldn't look generic and cheap. I do like that they didn't clump the apples together but everything else is clumped so... nyargh.
This was a good idea executed poorly in my oh so humble opinion. But hey, AG, you could release a book based on this stand and I'll buy it.

Kit's Garden Accessories // $35
image host
Item#FRH19
Kit loves helping her mother pick and can the vegetables she grows in the garden. This set has everything she needs:
A basket to bring in goodies from the garden
Greens, carrots, and tomatoes that have been “cooked” for canning
Bunches of onions, peppers, and lettuce
Three blue jars with removable lids
An apron her mother made from a flour sack
All food items are pretend.

Short answer: no. Long answer: another thing that's a good idea but it's just done so badly that I can't begin to want it. I could handle the plastic if it looked.... better. Those mason jars are a travesty. D: This is something I could see old school AG doing and doing really, really well, which means I'm comparing this set to something that has never existed and that's not fair but still. Hard pass.

Nanea's Luau Set // $85
image host image host
Item#FRH25
Nanea loves going to the beach—so she’s delighted when her brother, David, chooses a beach luau for his birthday celebration. This 23-piece set comes with pretend Hawaiian treats to share at a special occasion:

A wooden luau table, made low to the ground so Nanea sits with her legs underneath
Three pieces of kalua meat that would have been slow-roasted in an imu, or underground oven, and served on the tray
Two coconut drinks decorated with hibiscus flowers
A table runner made of faux banana leaves
A bowl of poi, a uniquely Hawaiian pudding made from mashed taro root
A bowl of rice and salmon with a lid that comes off for serving
A slice of pie for dessert
Two red lanterns to hang for decoration
A ripe papaya and a bunch of mangoes
Two plates with hibiscus flower patterns
A fabric flower lei and woven paper grass mat
All food items are pretend.

I dig the lanterns. I'm eh on most of the rest though now I want pie. I really want pie, actually. Good job, AG. I'm going to see about getting some Key Lime pie later. As for this set eh. I like that it ties into the stories and I'll be honest, that picture of Nanea at the table is adorable.

Nanea's Luau Dress // $32
image host image host
Item#FRH24
Nanea’s family celebrates her big brother’s 18th birthday with a luau—a traditional Hawaiian feast. She wears this outfit and dances a hula she created as a special gift to her brother:
A bright-yellow dress with pink hibiscus print, taffeta ruffles, and a bow at the waist
Canvas wedge sandals with crisscross straps and satin bows
A bright-pink hairbow for her dark-brown curls

The good: I really like those shoes. The bad: I loathe pink and yellow together. This at least has orange thrown in to soften the blow and the yellow isn't my least favorite yellow but still. It's a cringe for me. But I do like it in the Luau set picture so maybe it'll grow on me. Weird bow/ruffles are doing nothing for me either. Well, nothing good anyway. As for now, I'm passing but those shoes are pretty nifty.

For me, Rebecca won this round. And with only one item, too. Good job, Beckers.
