AG: June Release is coming

impyAG news time, people. I'd say this is not a drill but I save that for new GOTY stuff and historical goodies, not in that order. However, we do have some retirements to talk about, so let's begin, shall we?
Apparently AG is swapping out two of the TrulyMe dolls. Unfortunately they're taking away two interesting dolls and giving us not!Josefina and another classic mold of not my thing? If you've had your eye on #26 or #62, I'd get right on that as they're scheduled to be yanked any day now. Some are wondering if it's a thing with the eyes since both are medium dolls with the amber eyes. I must be crazy because I am actually pondering snagging 62, simply because Sonali mold that's pretty different from what I have already. But don't need a new doll. Decisions, love. Decisions. Anyway, we yank these two interesting dolls away and in return we'll get:
#81, whose page doesn't seem to be working so I'm not going to link to it. Classic mold, brown eyes, long curly possibly caramel hair. You'll also notice that the meet outfit isn't changing yet.
#82 who is another not!Josefina. Medium skintone, brown eyes, dark brown curly hair. She's pretty but I do not like the weird thing AG's been doing with the lips lately. Not sure if she'll actually come with essentially nude lips or if it's one of those corrections done that alters the lip color in photos. IG is filled with those and I am not a fan of them either.
Of the two, 82 is my favorite but it's not really a competition because anything beats classic mold for me these days. *shrug* I don't think either is worth losing 26 & 62, though.
Onward, we don't have pictures yet, but apparently this release will also bring us bowling stuff, a new outfit or two for the Wellies, and Blaire's second release though no one has any word on what, exactly, that will be.
We do have pictures and links for the new Mix n Match stuff, though, and people are either "ew, baby-ish" or "WANT NOW" about it, with very little in between. As they've shown up in outfit sets and not singles, that's kinda how we'll look at them for now.
Bonjour Fashion Tee and Flower Market Skirt Outfit
This was the first outfit to get leaked and I am pretty much at this stage:
Like it's cute, it's fine and I don't hate it, but I also see nothing to lose my shit over aside from maybe the sleeves being a little bit fancier than usual. I like the shoes, actually, though they kinda scream plastic OG shoes upon closer inspection. I'm more interested in the doll and good lord, I do not need all the Sonali dolls, self, so help me god.
Purr-fect Dots Dress and Sunny Sights Flats
I see what you're doing, AG. You're giving people red, white, and blue options right before July 4th. I get it and good on you. I don't hate this one, but it's one I'd pick up as either a way to use up a reward or when it's on sale/clearance. I think you could do some cute things with it but it's also very blah to me. If it's your most favorite thing in the world, I cannot fault you for it, but I will not be joining you in losing my mind over it.
Lovely Leopard Coat and Bonjour Fashion Tee Outfit
Dude, it's damn near 80 degrees at 4am where I live. I promise you, the idea of a coat is making me sweat profusely already. I hate fashion being ahead to such a degree in both real world applications and doll world. However... I must say that I am being hit with dual alarms from my childhood and I would be remiss if I did not inflict both upon you.
The outfit as presented is basically screaming Anastasia Elizabeth McGill. It is also, however, screaming Stephanie Green. So while I do not want the coat, I do like that particular shot?
Now, let's focus on the other bits. The leggings set will be mine, and not just because it's very Stephanie. The only question is how long will I wait to buy it. Also, I will be buying the kitty bag/watch/ring set ASAP. I have a mighty, mighty need. *grabby hands* Maybe this is what people are calling babyish? Fuck if I know, I just know I wants and I shall has.
Eiffel Tower Blouse and Noir Jumper Outfit
Actually, this is what's being called out as babyish. This is the outfit I feel conflicted about. On the one hand, it drives home the Stephanie/Stacey vibes to this whole collection. And the jumper is giving me serious 90's flashback vibes to the degree it is almost painful... when it's not on the doll. On the doll it looks kinda... weird? But I don't hate it. I think this is one that's going to live or die based on how it looks in person. But I'd kill for that jumper to have been a shirt . Is it wrong I want to buy it and then see if I can figure something out with the straps to make it into what I want? I think the blouse is cute, honestly. And this is the outfit that's making me consider those shoes.
Sunny Paris Cardigan and Parisian Plaid Skirt
Which is funny because I'm sure those shoes exist to be paired with this sweater but y'know, whatever, AG. Kinda hate the styling on this outfit. I think it's because the Bonjour shirt is a bit too casual for what's going on with the rest of the ~look~. This also reads as an older outfit, which doesn't surprise me as the adults are like "I'd totally wear this outfit to work". *shrug* I want to like the skirt more than I do but let's get one thing straight: that ain't plaid, AG. That's houndstooth and you know it. The sweater I want to see over the blouse from the previous outfit, as that's going to tell me how much I like it.
In general, that's why I like this collection. It's one that makes me want to actually play with the mix and match possibilities. I need to see that cardigan with the matching shoes, dammit. It feels like it's missing a more plain shirt to really make it work as a capsule kind of wardrobe like someone else mentioned, but it's something that I think could and should do well assuming it's not a complete disaster in its construction.
Oh, and after four billion years, AG is doing everyday free shipping... if you spend $125 before taxes and without gift cards. Sigh. I get why it's set at that, honestly. It's so you buy a doll and you have to buy something else because it'd be stupid not to do so. But this is a very clear case of utilize the tiers of your rewards program and actually reward your customers with a lower threshold for free shipping on a daily basis.
While I have you here, let's quickly discuss the historical dolls. If you get bored and peruse their sections, you'll notice just about everyone is looking a little empty these days. And that is why I very much hope the rumor of the historical release not being until we actually hit fall (as in after September) is not true. AG has trained a lot of their customers to have a historical release in late August and that's also when the books with their new look are set to drop. It makes no sense to not have the books and doll stuff release at the same time.
Oh, and the June release is scheduled for the 14th, I believe. Which makes no sense as they've been doing them on what, Mondays for awhile? So heck if I know.
