Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to convince me that Mom going to rehab for... however long, would not be the worst thing in the history of ever and should not result in me screaming internally because the four places they rattled off have piss poor ratings and have for years.

Seriously, I am not having a good day right now.

Well, it is good that she's being released to rehab as planned. I'm sorry you don't have any decent places close by, but as long as you continue to be an advocate for your mom, I think she will get through this just fine 😊

Much easier to keep an eye on her with visitation. Due to covid, there's no visitors allowed unless it's seriously bad. Triple checked today. :(

UGH, that sucks! :( It's also a little strange that their visitation is stricter than the hospital's. I hope it eases soon...

Pretty sure it's because the rehab centers are usually set up with nursing homes which have basically been on lockdown since all this started. Technically after 2 weeks you get 15 minutes outside Mon/Wed/Fri but that'll get kiboshed should anyone in the facility test positive for COVID. Also I swear some of the rehab places just plain don't have great visitation even in non-2020 hellscape times. A former coworker had to go in for whatever reason and I think the visitation for her was the same outside only, two or three days a week thing. it was very weird.
