impyFeeling a little scattered at the moment. Part of this is because I'd fully planned to be knocked out by now and then I remembered I hadn't made my List of Bills To Be Paid yet and um, yeah, that'll scare you awake when you realize OHSHIT, somehow I forgot to pay Comcast last month? I don't know how.
We're what, halfway to Christmas in the month and I don't super feel the holiday spirit. At all, really, until this morning and maybe brief blink and you'll miss them moments when I look at the tree. I tried watching a holiday movie yesterday and made it maybe 20 minutes in before I noped out and vegged, mainlining The Great North and Bob's Burgers til I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. This morning I switched to an episode of Psych, then Almost Christmas which kept me mostly entertained and almost hit the dysfunctional family holiday movie spot I've been trying to scratch. So if you know any movies that would fall under that, like Home for the Holidays or The Family Stone, please do share. I don't think I can handle the super fluffy Hallmark usuals this year, but gimme a house full of family members who probably shouldn't be stuck together and I am THERE. Almost Christmas can't resist the obvious Danny Glover line but the movie itself is totally worth it for the grandma scene alone.
Then I switched to watching Christmas episodes of The Middle. I had a little bit of a Christmas glow going on for awhile there and then decided I was gonna check to make sure I'd done my list (I had not) and wound up on FB where tis the season to feel ostracized from one's extended family and FB's gonna alert you to all the posts you're not tagged in. Which is weird. So... now I'm in that fun funk where you know your brain is making a bigger deal of something because you're tired, dammit, but you aren't ready for sleep because brain is hyping up this latest slight. Brain, stop. It's fine. Or not fine, but it's fine that it's not fine?
Not helping the brain weasels is the knowledge that this week at work is likely gonna suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck because my coworker is on vacation this week, one of the only people who knows how to keep photo running has jury duty this week, and oh yeah, the people who NCNS'd last week got fired. Woo.
On the plus side, Shannen Doherty's podcast goes really quick and I need more.
