Is it wrong that after six, almost seven [come October, it'll be seven] years of living here, when I dream about the other house, I still think of it as home? [/rheteorical question]
So I did. Dream about home, that is. I guess you can't live somewhere for 15 or so years and not think of it as home for forever and a day. And it's odd the things you remember. Like the tree outside my room that I thought of as mine. Or the gardenia I planted that grew to be fairly large, all things considered. Or the back corner of the yard where we'd throw all the leaves/grass clippings, and when we were little, my brother and I would use as the ultimate test of bravery. Namely, if you could go in the front, past the icky creepy crawlies you could see, through the back and out the side and make it without calling in backup, brave you were. Lots of fun.
And since all the memories I just listed were outside, it probably explains why I spent 90% of my childhood tanned or sunburned. That in turn explains why I don't spend half as much time outside. I've already tempted the sun cancer gods, thank you.
10-6! 12-8! *cries* But payday. So I can be adult about this. Really.
