she's much better without me..
Sep. 23rd, 2004 08:34 amOh Great Impy, I have an extra twenty bucks or so, what CD should I spend it on?
After grumbling about how much CDs cost when you were young [even better if you are, indeed, still very young, you should skip your optionally happy arse out and buy Your Body Above Me by Black Lab. I'm sure I've said this before, but damn it, good stuff. Old stuff too, now that I think aboot it. But I don't think, except in funny accents. If you think, perhaps, you have heard their stuff, but you know you don't own this most sacred of albums, then maybe you own whatever soundtracks they're on. They have many, one of which is the Buffy soundtrack.
send me the ghost that I was, that I was, that I am.. I will wash it away
For those who think, Jesus, doesn't she have anything to blather on about other than work, skip this paragraph. Unless you'll be hunting me for the holidays, in which case this might help you out a bit. After I waited to consult with Kathleen about which holidays she might want, she came in tonight and picked hers immediately. Which meant that I shouldn't have bothered to wait, and I had to wait to go to the bathroom which was not pleasant. x_x After letting the initial, "So glad I wanted to work those nights she didn't pick for sure..." go away, I settled on volunteering for Thanksgiving night and Christmas night. I'm hoping to avoid having to work Christmas eve, especially if we have widget. Which you know means we'll have widget Christmas night. Oi.
And now for a segment I like to call : When did the life around me turn into a soap opera and who do I have to send roses to in order to thank them for not making me part of the soap?
A recap for those, like me, who get easily confused.
Jackie - my brother's ex girlfriend. She lived here for ages. She's the mother of Thomas, my nephew.
Tina - Jackie's sister. I don't have a high opinion of her based solely on the fact that she never did a damn thing to make Jackie feel better the entire time Jackie lived here. That's like... two years.
Lori- Jackie's best friend [or one of them?] who's always seemed nice enough to me. Jackie is living with Lori and Lori's kid, whose name I don't recall. The kid's a girl though.
Now. On with the show. Lori got married last year sometime. Or maybe it was the year before. Not sure. Anyway, she and hubby had the kid and then things went sour. He's nuts, apparently. Has held a gun to her head and seems to be missing many a screw upstairs. He's also dating Tina. Tina is preggers. Lori does not know. o_O I think I've seen this movie. Someone's gonna end up dead.
This used to be my most favorite lyric of all times. The kind I could quote backwards and forwards and probably annoyed the hell out of people with:
some people change, others hang on till they can't anymore
Off to read Highlights to Heaven. Yes, I am on a murder mystery binge. But this one is due tomorrow. Only have 185 pages to go. Can it be done in a normal amount of time? The world may never know.
And if you're too cheap to buy zee blacklab album, or don't think I love you enough to make you a CD [and send it], then find yourself these songs: time ago & gates of the country
Warning: Unless I really like you, or expect it of you, the next person to take a cheap shot @ Shannen Doherty is so getting kicked in the shins. It just ain't cute, people. If I can cut back on the Lyssie mockage [not Kern though, you have to leave me one constant in life], then the rest of the planet can lay off Shannen. :p
Also, my "take that!" Lauren icon is amusing me greatly. That is all.
