endless night, not hardly
Aug. 2nd, 2005 03:25 amDo you ever just want to walk up to someone and say, "You suck" and then walk away? I do. A lot. I should not be allowed to 'play' with others, as after awhile I find myself wishing to beat the crap out of some not so poor asshole. But I won't. I will just mentally flick them off and go about my day.
Really.
It's just... there's fun bitchy and then there's bitchy bitchy, which is usually combined with the, "I'm so better than everyone else here, but I'll just slum it so you can all love me" attitude. And I could stand that if these people weren't usually so freakin' two-faced about it. Sigh.
Moving along, the other day I hit Target due to it's toy clearance goodness. Oh. My.Dog. I'm assuming the Bratz are hopping over to another aisle or are getting their 'fair' share of the girly doll aisle sooner or later, because for the first time in, you know, ages, the Barbie army could kick the Bratz off the aisle with only a tiny bit of effort. Seriously, I think the only thing left were the Secret Dates, the first Twiins, and the Baby Bratz. The prices on those, by the way, were jacked up to nine bucks or thereabouts. I was a little disappointed that not even the unloved dolls from previous lines were still around. wait, the eye candy dolls were too, but no. Just... no. But as I bent down to possibly pick up an eyecandy Phoebe, I saw... Lindsay Lohan!... the doll, people. Of course, I realized about ten seconds later why she was shoved in the Bratz section. This doll was orange [actually, a fairly accurate color for when LL was a redhead, unfortunately] and her face was... oh, my dolly gods, I couldn't even look at her. I put her back, shoved her a little further back and went about my business.
Which included picking up both of the My Design Barbies, and one each of Chels and Madison. Snapped up one of the shirts and inadvertantly bought a pair of pants I sincerely doubt any of my dolls, MS or otherwise, will wear. I meant to put it back after coming to that conclusion, but forgot. Dammit. Um, hrmm. Grabbed two of those 4ever best friend outfit thingies because they're cute and I've been eying them for awhile anyway. Who cares that everyone and their Pullip was obviously doing the same? :p Um, also bought one of those big chairs that's actually meant for a doll much bigger than little miss Paja, but she and Andromeda don't care. They aren't giving up the big blue chair. Found a Bratz fashion pack and bought it for Stella, whenever I can freakin' find one again. [Icy needs a friend, not just a minion] You know I must have bought something else because that can't possibly have totalled what I spent. *muse* Oh well, it's all I remember. Oh! And I stupidly bought that damn American Idol stage thing. Why? No, really, why did I buy it? For the cute director's chair that has fallen apart six times? For the boots? Actually, maybe it was for the boots..
Thoughts on the new stuff floating around. Lindsay is obviously going to be a bitch to find one that isn't hideous. And I will, damn it. I will. The Hollywood line looks incredibly cool on the shelves with their packaging, something totally superficial but possibly makes up for the fact that it takes a will of iron to open the damn boxes without ruining them in the process. Saw a couple of the new Fashion Fever dolls, but I'd seen them before elsewhere. They taunt me, they do. Did see the new clock, and it taunts me, though upon closer inspection I realized that chances are good I don't love the pieces enough to buy it. The bookends were cute, and the style for 2 sets are iffy. Mmm, what else? The secret locker dolls were out, and I ignored them. The Swapping Styles with cutbacks are also there, and it makes me sad that Nolee cannot proclaim her badassed coolness via her tshirt anymore.
Bored yet? Yeaaaah. Okay, off to watch some Desperate Housewives, shower, then eventually try and sleep before the sun comes up.
Oh, and for customers over at pullipparade, the contest entries are up and I think I just saw my odds of placing plummet down to, you know, nothing. Woe!
