Dec. 11th, 2005 08:55 amSomeone please tell me that when I was younger, My Little Pony wasn't so... painful? While waiting for the pizza of DOOM, I started watching the MLP movie/Christmas special that was airing on Toon Disney. Oh.My.God.
What did they do to my beloved ponies? What? My mother assures me that by the end of the MLP run that I count as mine, the names had gotten to the point where it was best to ignore them, and that musical numbers would pop up, but not that frequently. At the end of the special, she wondered why the hell I used to love them so much before remembering, oh, yeah, they didn't suck.
I just could not turn away. Watching with Dad didn't help as I could just hear all the comments he wanted to say, but didn't. Darling this, darling that, darling darlings. The names hurt, the endless repetition of things [Minty's gone to the north pole in a balloon! Minty? Gone to the north pole? In a balloon? our minty? alone? would be cute once. More than once and you make my eyes bleed.] and obvious moral of the story and sugar shock hurt.
Why? *cuddles Majesty, Cotton Candy, and Blossom until the scary memories go away*
Things I do not need to hear about: Various late night murders that have taken place near where I work. If Mad Madam H had thought about it, she might have shooed me away before I overheard the conversation. As it was, I just stood there thinking, "ohgod.ohGOD."
G'ah. I'm hoping the wonder of new eyeliner and a Hello Kitty coloring book will make it all go away.
