I think my heart is hollow
Jan. 20th, 2006 11:03 amToday I know damn well why my head hurts. Shortly after getting off work, I was in line at Sonic [where they fucked up the easiest part of the order. Twice] and the sun was shining. Right in my damn eyes. Imagine a sunbeam pointed right into your eyes after you've been in the dark for more than 8 hours. You can imagine the pain. If not, try it sometime, kay?
Good lord, who said it was cool for the drugs to take longer than two minutes to kick in? Aaaaaaaaargh. I'm ranting about this because, sad to say, this is about all I've got. Work was dull, though I think I got my whole work out just moving the drug overstock around.
Cass is still mentioning leaving Matt. But since I got the edited and condensed version of their 'talk', I don't know what to say. Apparently his new reasoning for pushing the wedding back til next year is so his family will be able to attend. [note: Cass had no idea his family would be unable to attend in August. So this is news.] Thing is, previously mentioned elsewhere, and mentioned on more than one occasion to him, Ari is getting married the ass-end of next year. If Cass got married next year as well, the family would have to choose which wedding to attend. In the nicest way possible of stating this: It would be unfair to whichever sister missed out on a relative attending their wedding. Again pointing out 2008 is still open did nothing for anyone. Which is nice. this gives me three full years to get engaged and plot a wedding. :p [*]
She then went on the, "I don't think this is going to work out." She asked me what I thought, and I pointed out that it didn't seem fair that they postpone their wedding so his family could attend if it would kill her chances of having her family there. I did not point out that possibly, if they were very creative, they could have their wedding cake and eat it too, since it doesn't seem fair to force her into a January/February wedding just to possibly accommodate family members who won't bother to show up because they're racist, or think their baby's beloved isn't good enough. Plus, I'm doubting the issue is when to have the wedding if she's talking about places to stay when she leaves. :p
* - While writing that bit, I read this in an email dad forwarded: Marian is still working nights at Walmart, she likes night work..Her to best friends got engaged over the holidays. I hope it spreads.
Oh. My. Lord. My father a) has no idea where I work despite having been there to pick me up numerous times and b) is plotting to marry me off! I spared you the caps lock.
Yes. I'm reaching there. :p And I'm having a total Lorelai moment there, what with the wanting to share this amusing tidbit with either of my 'to best friends', but being completely unable to do so for different reasons. A) doesn't like boyfriendish type and it's still awkward talking to her about him and C) would rightly snap about me mentioning this when she's thinking of getting rid of her engagement/idiot. That makes me kinda sad. Will not dwell... And obviously cannot mention it to boyfriendish type as he'd hyperventilate on the spot. :p
If you do not get the Lorelai reference, please go run to Gilmore Girls season 1. Now.
