6. South Carolina
Well-known to vacationers for its golf and beach vacations (think Hilton Head), the Palmetto State also wins the award for the highest rate of aggravated assaults in the U.S.
Joy!
I need to clean my room again because again my father is having the house appraised for whatever reason, and I'm really getting tired of strange old men waltzing through my bedroom, measuring it, y'know? Which means they'll need to be able to sort of walk around enough to not trip and kill themselves or my stuff. G'ah.
Yesterday was spent with the Widge and reading Whiskey on the Rocks, which is pretty good. :) I like being surprised by a book I swipe from Mumsy's pile of books.
I've been pretty good about not spending my money this paycheck. Probably because I'd already spent it in advance for the most part, but I'm ignoring that. The last time I had money in my savings account for any prolonged period of time, I lent myself oodles and never paid myself back. This go round I'm being better about it. I hope by saying this, I don't jinx myself.
-upcoming bills-
- Nina
- Purezza of the mini persuasion [actually ordering her, also good idea]
- Cable
- Cell
I resent the fact that my cable bill keeps jumping in price for no good reason. I was told one price, agreed to one price, and then every three months, like clockwork, they tack on an extra couple of bucks. G'ah. I'm not stupid, I didn't expect it to stay the same, but it's increased by more than ten dollars. That just isn't right, man.
In other news, I'm trying to abstain from buying any other Pullips besides any preordery goodness. I suspect I shall fall the hell off that wagon shortly. I don't know why. I'm trying to be good, but I just sense it happening. Crack. They're dolly crack.
Crap, there was some other 'news' that wasn't really news, but I don't remember what it was/is.
Well, Jackie had her baby. Josslynn [I know I misspelled that, but she spelled it really weird, so gimme a while to find the exact spelling] Robin. Aw. I shall still call her Ozma and totally confuse the hell out of anyone who ever has a conversation with me about Ozma and Widget. All. Hail. Me.
Trying to slowly kill my magazine addiction. I'm thinking I could go subscriptiony for any I buy regularly and everybody else has to be thoroughly checked. If I'm gonna blow that much money on shiny things, they might as well be dolls or books, and I've got that big black bookcase to fill up.
heh. There are about a zillion threads on PS and elsewhere about CrazyClam and her wigs of DOOM. Namely the giant group order that doesn't seem to have been split and sent out. Naturally, people are ticked because dude, they want their stuff. The girl claims to be sick, but now they're stalking her elsewhere. You cannot tell me she doesn't know how pissed people are. So either she's incredibly stupid or incredibly doped up. You could easily calm down 90% of the angry mob by issuing a statement on LJ or something explaining what the hell is wrong. Truth or fiction, your choice. But no. Instead she's leaving virtual footprints and ticking people off even more. The really amusing part [for the sadist in me] is that she was what, one of the behind the pullip winners or something? Which, alas, total popularity contest. So for that alone, I snicker until it hurts. On the inside.
To clarify: Either way, she's a bit of a moron. It sucks if she ripped off so many people, and I'm all for public flogging. All hail the flogging. If she didn't, and either sent things out and they're just really frickin' slow or she really is sick and will send things out ASAP, then she should be smart enough to try and calm people down. Or else stay off sites that publically show when you last logged on.
But the whole popularity thing slays me. Really. Three cheers for under the radar flying. Well, and not being a thief.
Why is it so fricking cold up here? Why? *snuggles under blanket*
Next week, I'm thinking of trying to hitch a ride to the trade-a-book type place in summerville and fill in the holes of my various book collections. But in order to do that, I need to find my booklists and go through and check off what I have already. It's probably more than a little wrong that I so enjoy doing just that, but I don't care.
In closing, I cannot believe it's almost April. o_O That's just so weird.
