My brother's dog is insane. Not cutely insane, or a little eccentric like the other dog is. No, she's perfectly fine one minute and then the next she lunges at my ankle and will not stop until she's dragged away, growling and spitting. It's really, really annoying. If I knew how to stop it, I would. So far the only thing I've managed to do is teach the dog to sit 90% of the time when commanded. By me. The rest of you suckers are on your own. Meh.
This year I've been off to a bit of a slow start with my reading. It's taking me forever to read things that should take hours. I suspect a lot of that had to do with the wedding though, so maybe after I slip back onto a normal [for me] schedule, I'll be able to finish a book within a day.
However, taking my time did stretch out a deliciously creepy little book [Greywalker], that kept me up past my bedtime last week. If it were possible to read while covering your eyes like some do during horror movies, I think I would have done so. In a good way, I assure you.
Naturally, that meant that I had to slide right into Fragile Things, which seems to keep growing every time I put the book down. A bit disconcerting, to tell you the truth. Finally read through all of the Strange Little Girls stuff as well as the Scarlet's Walk bit, which prompted simultaneous geekdom. Some I'd read previously, although forgotten until I started them again [Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves in the Secret House of the Night of Dread Desire], which then made me wonder what else was in that anthology.... As it stands, I'm currently fond of October in the Chair, Closing Time, and Locks, though there's another that I think I loved more than those, but damned if I can find it now. Like I said, due to sleep deprivation and reading it a bit out of order, it seems like the book keeps shifting and changing whenever I look away. Sneaky.
The pictures Dad took didn't come out very well, so when I have time I'll see if any of the ones I took manage to transfer to the computer without turning to crap. It's been known to happen.
*dies* So tired.
