Oddity

My head hurts. Here's hoping either the Excedrin or the food kicks in and takes the headache out, because I'm not really fond of the pain. The whining, sure. The pain, not so much.
Caught up completely on Heroes, which means I can devote this weekend to possibly Gilmore Girls, or maybe Supernatural or House or some combo of any of these. Yes, I'm a TV addict, but mostly just certain people or a small group of shows. I did realize the other day that I miss Charmed at the oddest times. For instance, yesterday I woke up feeling like death warmed over and to kill time until the cook came home, I flipped through various channels and landed on We're Off To See the Wizard, or whatever it was actually called, and bam. Piper in braids, Pheeble with horrid hair, Cole's demonic blonde spouting off what fans would then spend the next four years debating/shouting from the rooftops [Pheeble ruined Cole. Cole ruined Freebie], it all came flooding back. I'm not sure which I loved more. The show, or bitching about how it kept getting progressively worse, even when that didn't seem physically possible.

Remind me, when I'm out buying stuff this year, that I really need some piece of furniture to put my TV [and assorted DVDs and tapes] on... The chair isn't cutting it, man. Fine, the chair works perfectly well for the actual set, but does nothing for my ever growing DVD collection. Which still has about ten movies and infinitely more TV shows. :p
I think I inherited the "must...have...them...all!" tendancy from Mom, but instead of also snagging her ability to watch the same movie over and over and over, format be damned, I ended up with Dad's ability to say no once I owned it in some form, but still be mesmerized by it on television. See his Christmas gift. He has yet to crack that set open, so I'm really glad I didn't buy him season three. I think I will eventually, but it'll be a Tuesday present. All that means is that I'm compelled to buy various things I love, but never actually watch them after I buy them. This doesn't extend to Gilmore Girls though, as I almost never watch the reruns on ABC Fam, but when the mood strikes, I'll devour an entire season on DVD.

I have nightmares where the wedding hasn't happened yet. I've had at least three I can remember fairly distinctly and I'm pretty sure there was at least one more. I'd find it amusing but sometimes they get creepy. One had a murder mystery that was never solved, but did involve me trying to find my way to some house in a neighborhood I'm vaguely familiar with. I don't remember if that one also had Jared Leto in the same dream or if that was another. Yesterday's involved a car accident and a float, as in the parade variety.

In work related bitching, I have decided that I have found another exception to my "bring on the resets!" mentality. The cigar section. Ours is either missing a section or the genius coming up with the resets does not understand that some things just cannot physically fit the way they want them to, or that they shouldn't when it makes much more sense to do it another way. Like the singles. If you want them displayed so that something other than the really obvious sells, sure, move them up a shelf. But don't put the packs that can't stand on a shelf that seems hell bent on knocking them down to the floor. That's just uncool.

Other bitching: People who say, "No one buys me my shiny things, I pay for them all myself! ...Except that one time. And Christmas. Oh, and birthdays too." This actually only bothers me when it's a shiny I would either like in general, or something where I can say the first part but not the second. Jealousy? Mm... And annoyance. If you have numerous exceptions, then you don't get access to the broad statement anymore.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go fight off frostbite. Oi.
