Ah, Father's Day. A day which brings up all kinds of issues for all sorts of friends. If you're one of those, want a hug and icecream? Also, you might want to look away, cuz, y'know, I'm about to go all "I love my Daddy!" right about...
Now. Anyway, Father's Day. I tend to have no idea what to get my father as a general rule. Every so often inspiration strikes, but it rarely strikes in late May/early June, or after November. Y'know, in time for gift giving. Or, inspiration strikes, but it's insane and I don't run with it. Like, the house needs a new floor in the front room. I... have no idea what to do about that. So, I don't do anything. We also need a new piece of furniture [which I've totally found and love and would willingly buy!] but... it would need to go in the front room, where we need a new floor. So. Shirts. I bought the man shirts.
And a photokeychain which is more awesome in theory than in execution. However, it's something unexpected, so... I wish I hadn't made that crack about playing cards with Demon Dog's eyes rolled back in her head on them. I would totally have gone for that as a gag gift, but I thought of it too late as a gift for my brother. So the boy, as he is a father and I do so love to remind him of this [and not just because I suspect his girlfriend wishes she could forget this little fact, though it is an enormous plus], is getting a picture of him + widget where they're hugging and has been described as, "So cute your eyes might bleed!"
If that isn't glowing praise, really, what is?
The boy gets a meh card because there are all of three cards for brothers, and one of them sold out before I got to it. :p The other two, well, one was meh, the other is fantastic, but I gave it to him last year, and it's so good he'd remember it. I think. Well, he should. I remember it, anyway. I do not intentionally repeat cards. Dad, however, has a collection of cards. If I remember, I'll share them. If not, be content in the knowledge that one is a talking Simpsons card. And one is from the cat. Because we are that sort of family where the cat would give a card, just to one up the children. Shut up. Cats are like that.
Bah. My last item from Boscovs was cancelled. I was sort of happy about the way they'd shipped things, even if Delancey did come in a box that I think a dinosaur stepped on. She shipped on her own, and the Widget's second box of Legos was supposed to ship on it's own, but that's the item canned. I guess I should just be grateful it wasn't Delancey, huh? Mmm, Delancey.
