the sky is falling
Oct. 11th, 2008 08:29 amI had a dreamhouse and it was bizarre. To spare all of you who don't give a rat's ass, we shall -( cut )
My legs and ankles hurt. Too much wandering the store, and besides, I walk funny. WOE.
Went to Target yesterday. Wasn't quite as much fun as I'd hoped because about two minutes in, I started to feel strange again. Bother. It didn't help that I had a budget to stick to and I wanted shiny things and I needed a gift idea for Ari and didn't have a clue what to buy her. Nope, did not help at all. Ended up going with the Target gift card because there were so many things I thought she'd like that I figured that unless she's banned Target for some reason [and it's doubtful given how much she loves the Target] she'd find something she wanted.
Now. I should point out that I... made it out of Target without spending $60. I don't know if any of you realize how rare this is. I would have spent even less, but Mom got some things, too. Sadly, Pink Barbie Witch was not one of my purchases. I want her! :(
- Stuffed orange pumpkin of Adorable
- Halloween Hello Kitty stickers
- cheap-y strobe light for Halloween
- glow sticks
- ari's gift card
I had planned on putting the strobe light and the pumpkin back, but the pumpkin was so soft that all I could think was "Cuddle!" Yeaaaaaah. I'm that weak. But I was also so grouchy I couldn't properly appreciate all the Halloween goodness. *gasp*
And then I spent twenty minutes in the library and ended up with a giant pile of books. Mostly the American Girl mysteries [who knew?] and some Y/A goodness. Mom got even more than I did. The weird thing was I swear they just remodeled that place, but it looks really... dark. And not in that intentional or awesome way, but like someone didn't realize that they tinted the windows too dark, that they shouldn't have used black floor mats, and that the lighting was off. The old Main library was dark in that "I'm afraid someone will appear from behind one of the stacks, stab me to death, and get away with it because no one can see me due to the blue/green lighting in this one corner. Awesome!" There's a reason they turned it into a haunted house after they built the new one. This is just buy better light bulbs dark. Failure for the decorator. It doesn't help that I really don't like that library, huh? You'd think I'd move on by now. The librarians who used to annoy me either don't work there anymore or I don't remember who they are, but I still associate that one with being full of mean people. *shrug*
*cackle-chokes* Walgreens' CEO "retired". No more Reindrops? What will I do with myself? His last one was all about sticking with it for the long haul, the sky will not fall, Chicken Little.
G'ah. Tummy now grumbly.
eta: the first car I ever "borrowed" *coughcough* and used to improve my driving immensely, although I still do not drive legally, or much at all... anyway, car towed. How the hell did the person who KILLED it get to sell it? He'd better not get to keep his, what, five bucks? No. Just... no.
