I'm a lemming, sugar
Dec. 31st, 2008 12:51 pm2008: A retrospective.
Yeah, 2008 isn't going down as my favorite year.
That about sums it up.
2008: needs more glitter.
Okay, I need to request some books at the library because my pile mysteriously disappeared. Gasp!
Oh, and if you wanted to play Christmas roundup:
A sparkly Starbucks coffee mug
Becoming Jane
Emma
The Dark Knight [the boy and I did end up giving each other the same gift, although I splurged for the Target/mask thing and he did not. However he bought me...]
the new Dido album [this, so I think he won gift Lotto giving. Rude.]
Girls Really Rock: Jade [Widget picked her out]
My Favorite Witch [I have hopes for this one because I liked the other two books in THIS series]
Gone With the Witch [I still haven't finished the first in this series because ohmylord, no! Bad, author! No sex-cookie for you!]
Never Have I Ever: Gossip Girl game
Haunted something or other book Cass gave to me and then warned that it might scare the crap out of me if read too late at night.
Victoria's Secret Coconut scented lotion/spray from Ari. Sadly it smelled better in the bottle than it does, y'know, out of it. It's mixed with something not quite right. I'm still holding out hope that my cold was influencing my sense of smell.
$35 in books a million gift cards
and some random girl gave me a $10 starbucks card.
- I learned very little about anything this year. I remained ignorant in the ways of, I don't know, pick something. As an American, I feel entitled to share my ignorance with the world.
- I might have thought to myself, "Dude, calm down with the sarcasm cuz some people just don't get it," but you'll notice that the sarcasm remains firmly intact. At least I hope you'll notice that. Otherwise, honey, sugar, babycakes, we've got problems.
- I had my heart thrown away. Just casually discarded and quite probably not a second thought given to it despite the history book it was lugging around. Nine years in one form, eleven in the other, and all of it just tossed aside. When asking why I'm in such a piss poor mood, please remember that fact. Kiss-kiss!
- When the last happened I didn't even get one single fruity girly drink, let alone a bottle of Kahlua to make me happier. When you get dumped, aren't your friends supposed to supply the booze or keep you away from sharp objects, either because you're a danger to yourself or [and this would be me] you're a danger to others? I want my damn girlie drink, goddammit!
- I attended no weddings. Hallelujah!
- I got my nickel raise at work. Score?
- I learned something about an acquaintance and someone I used to respect that killed the latter's respect and made me think even less of the former than I did before.
- It went by all too fast and didn't even leave me a decent gift in parting. Where's my pony? :P
- Wall-E was the best movie to take the Widget to for our first movie outing.
- I voted for a winner and actually felt good about it.
- Book of the year: 13 Reasons Why. If you still haven't read it, go. It can be your book for 2009. It's short enough that you might even finish, if you run, today.
