31 Days of October, The Aunts
Oct. 2nd, 2012 01:38 pmThis is not an entry about the movie itself, as that will come later once I watch it again. No, this is about the Aunts.

A quick search last night (this morning?) made me realize I am not alone in loving them. I knew this on some level as Ari and I both walked away from the movie not necessarily swoon-y over "I wished for you too" but wanting to grow up to be the Aunts.
When Widget came along I thought, "AHA! I will be able to let him have chocolate for breakfast like the Aunts!" y'know, once he was able to have chocolate, anyway. That was sadly not to be (though I did buy him a half a case of Count Chocula so maybe...) as his parents did very little parenting after awhile. But still.
Wise. Crazy. Not giving a right royal damn that the neighbors think they're crazy. Awesome hair. What is not to love?

If I had more time I'd go as one of the Aunts for Halloween this year. Sadly, I don't see that happening til maybe next year. As of now, all I've got is the hair and I'm working on the attitude. :P Still, when I grow up these ladies are the goal.
Elsewhere in the land of October, Mums picked up Gone Girl which starts off badly. I was so excited to see the book at the top of the pile that I grabbed it eagerly and then opened it, read one sentence and said, "nope." It gets better I'm still not all that far into it, so we'll see where things go.
