May. 11th, 2015 08:20 amYou know what is not as much fun as you might think? Having to replace a toilet seat. I know, I know, you're like "that sounds like it would be AMAZING." You would be so wrong that it hurts. You see, the seat had a bolt or... whatever that just kept spinning, but everything I'd looked at prior to attempting this (because research!) was like "flip the snap covers up, use your screwdriver and voila!" They skipped the whole bolt spinning to infinity thing.
Worse still, my bathroom is set up so that the toilet is crammed impossibly close to the sink so getting that one to come out was a pain because it involved letting my left hand do all the twisty work while my right hand tried (uselessly) to hold the bolt in place. Why no proper tools? Because my brother and nephew basically ran away with a good chunk of them and hid the remaining ones and Widget was out with his mother until 7-something. With the seat sliding off, I kept imagining the cat falling into the toilet.
She's too fluffy for that. Still. I managed.
New toilet seat. Yay.
Tried the Place Sher-bets! balm tint yesterday. I was expecting something very light. No, that sucker turned fucking pink. Bright pink. I'm starting to think these tints are just magic change artists. Which is fun but so not what I was expecting from them. I specifically chose to try that one out because it looked like it was going to be a basically clear gloss (and thus turned down three other colors I haven't tried yet because they were all brighter than I was going for at that moment).
I also had a moment of sheer stupidity but I stopped myself just in time. When it became apparent that Mother's Day was going to require a trip to the outside world, I figured I should actually attempt to look a little nicer, so make-up. Hence the whole balm tint thing. I have very, very pale eyelashes and I resent feeling like I *have* to wear mascara, but I delight in buying it. It's a weird mix. Anyway, when I work myself up to deciding to wear it, I'm good. Yesterday was going to be one of those days.
Only I was in the middle of watching Steel Magnolias. So yes, in the middle of watching a movie KNOWN FOR MAKING PEOPLE CRY, I thought to myself "Totally should put on eye makeup while watching this to save time."
Mmm. Hmm.
Luckily by the time I switched to the laptop upstairs, I realized I was being a complete idiot and avoided that incident before it could begin. Decided fluffy hair (in a good way) and unexpectedly pink lips would have to do.
Argh. Headache.
