May. 20th, 2015 08:42 amDare I brave the pool again? I really wish I had someone to go with. :/ Well, I've got another hour to debate it or fall asleep (I seem to be going back and forth between wide awake and possibly sleepy) so I guess we'll see how it goes.
Until then, have some AG news. AG released the promo picture of mini Maryellen and it confirms that she's going to have the friggin' classic mold and she's going to be that strawberry blonde that is heavy on the blonde.

New! Maryellen Mini Doll
The 6.5" Maryellen mini doll has warm brown painted eyes and shiny strawberry-blonde hair. Her smooth vinyl limbs are posable. She arrives in a tiny version of Maryellen’s authentic 1950s outfit—a striped dress with bows, knit shrug, and black Mary Jane shoes. Includes a mini abridged version of the book The One and Only: A Maryellen Classic 1.
Interesting thing of note? They say brown eyes. Her eyes are decidedly green, maybe hazel. (Not. Fucking. Hazel. Please, AG?)

So, I'm looking forward to the books and will likely get off my duff and pre-order them sometime eventually, but classic mold with funky bangs and not red hair? Yeah, probably not gonna happen. The real question now is whether I cave and buy Caroline Just In Case or I save my potential dolly money and buy #26 in the new Starfleet uniform that comes out tomorrow.
DECISIONS.
I won't lie, though. I wish tomorrow was new BeForever stuff day (though it's been hinted we might get something) and August was Truly Me launch time. Sigh.
Oh, I finally read the newer Kit mystery, did I mention that? It was/is 99 cents on Kindle. It's... not great. The story isn't bad, really, and it's definitely one you can solve, but there's nothing in it that screams Kit. It's just a generic mystery that happens to use Kit's name, really.
Compare that to the short story collection that FINALLY showed up Monday evening and that's just all kinds of Kit goodness.
Now I need to figure out which other collections I'm missing and track them down.
Which takes me to a rant that's only sorta related. Anyone else use Paperbackswap? I know they've really pushed the switch to printing your own postage but is there an easy way to tell when the book was actually mailed when they use that option? Because my short story collection was marked mailed April 30th, and that's what's on the printed postage, however it didn't do a damn thing in the system (as in was scanned and actually showed movement according to the tracking number the person did not provide but is on the label) until May 12th. Once that happened it moved pretty quickly but until then, nada. But there's no option of saying anything on their little "did you get your book?" survey thing. Like yes, I got my book, but I suspect the person who mailed it didn't actually mail it for another two weeks after they said they did and that's annoying.
Originally I thought it had gotten shipped back to them for some reason since pbs has that little map thing, but then I realized it was basing the travel time on guesses and nothing concrete.
Basically: I have a complaint and I don't know where to lodge it. :P
To even things out, I emailed Mattel's CS yesterday because my Freaky Fieldtrip Toralei has serious bobblehead syndrome (as in I think her head is broken) but it wasn't possible to tell that until she'd been taken completely out of the box considering they plastic tab those suckers down. I think I emailed them around 5pm and by the time I was going in to work a few hours later, they were already on the ball with the "sorry that happened, we're sending you a new doll" response.
