More of a mixed bag
Jun. 9th, 2015 05:46 amSweet baby boy who lived, what the frick did I do to my back? It was fine for two days and now, now it feels like I'm being jabbed repeatedly. Ugh.
Let's attempt to soldier on.
Scentsy order shipped! Woo! Tracking info not working yet but we'll see how it goes. It's nothing ~fancy~ but I'm curious about the BBMBs and that's going to influence what I buy a little later in the month.
AG is being... weird. They did a promotion with Williams-Sonoma over the weekend (I think it started Thursday?) where WS sent out coupons for free shipping and 20% off your order excluding the Bakery of Doom, I believe. Despite getting no less than three WS emails over the weekend (and daily ones leading up to it) I was not one of the chosen and no fishing elsewhere worked, either. Sigh. And since the codes were single use, it didn't do any good to share one code.
Until people emailed WS and asked for a code and were sent a code. That was probably sent to someone else first. So people would go to use their codes and would find out that the code had already been used. They'd have to call and WS would say "Dude, that's totally on AG, don't be bringing that crazy here" and AG would try and send you back to WS, who would go again with the, "Nuh-uh, no." response. Basically the whole thing was hinged on luck. It was luck on if you got the email in the first place, it was luck if you knew someone who did who would share, it was luck if the code would work, and it was luck if CS would make it work for you.
CS reps were also sharing that AG was moving towards single use codes being the norm so that people couldn't share their codes on websites.
Oh, AG. You are so woefully behind the times, aren't you? I just want to shake you until your little sleepy-eyes pop right the hell out of your little plastic head. The time for single use codes is over. Dead! You know people share codes, they do it right on your flipping FB page. You can't convince me that they're really losing oodles of money on the codes because you know what you can do with this new website of theirs that sucks in almost every other way?
You can stack codes. That's right. Before you had to choose between say, free shipping or getting 10% off if you happened to be in the spot with two codes. Now? Now you can use both! So people stacked that 20% and the $10 off coupons going around and you're really going to tell me that widespread sharing of free shipping codes (which is what they primarily have) is killing you?
( Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. )
Which is how I learned that when your order contains a B/O item, you can now cancel that item straight from your order history page if you want. So that's nice.
But because my relationship with AG is complicated, they've also gone and released info on new stuff coming out June 25th.
( New Stuffs! )
In other news, it's almost time for the official countdown to my birthday. :D We're a month and a day away!
Let's see. *thinks* It's probably time to do an updated version of the Favorite Versions of MH characters, but I'm lazy, so that might wait until my vacation to take pictures. I've actually been using this as my how to fall asleep thing. I try and count off my top five and usually around the second or third character I fall asleep. Some are easier than others. Like, upon review, I've apparently got a lot of Frankie doll love, but you ask me about Draculaura and I stall out. Is it because I love so many my brain shorts out or do I merely just tend to like her dolls? I suppose we'll find out, won't we?
I think the pain meds kicked in because now I'm really tired and I think that's less "Gosh, I'm actually in need of sleep" and more "ahhhh, pain free. I could really just enjoy doing nothing now, k?" or something.
TV wise, I caught up on Orphan Black yesterday. That was an experience, especially when coupled with PLL. Then today was the season opener of The Fosters which was basically a relentless parade of pain. Guys, you ease into that, you don't just keep piling on the hits. It hurts.
And despite having a serious backlog of shows I do want to watch, I've been re-watching Grace and Frankie on Netflix because it's actually working really well as comfort TV. We (the pets and I) definitely recommend that one, if you're so inclined. Possibly even if you aren't.
