If my eyes didn't feel like someone had slugged me (or what I imagine that would feel like), you'd be reading a rundown of the Thursday AG release complete with ~pictures~ and links and whatnot. You know, the usual. Alas, my shower only seems to have made things worse on that front, though it's nice to have sloughed off what felt like sixteen layers of grime.
I'm giving the headache stuff time to kick in, so we'll complain about work. :P Two weeks ago the AC in the store died. The power went out and when it came back the AC declined to return. It had been sounding a little rough in the months leading up to it, so I wasn't super surprised, especially as this happens every summer at some point. Usually after a door gets left open and the AC has to work harder but I guess the power blowing could do the same thing. In any case, they "fixed" it and ordered a part.
TWO WEEKS AGO.
Not only that, but it's been freakishly hot this summer. Usually June is still kinda nice and mild except maybe from 12-3 during the day but we've regularly been hitting over 100 on the heat index (once more: if you tell me "it feels like 107" then it's 107, dammit) every day since the AC died. I don't know how day shift hasn't managed to send someone to the hospital, truly. Either they've worked out a genius way of alternating people in and out of the cooler/stockroom or they really do absolutely nothing all day. I just don't know. Thursday when I had to stay til eight after bringing in truck, I thought I was actually going to be sick because it was SO hot. And that was with standing in front of the fan for the last hour or so of the shift. It was just... ugh.
It's been so hot at work that I haven't managed to work up the energy to walk down to the pool once this year. Once I hit the air conditioned wonder that is the car or the house, nuh uh. Not moving. It's not helping that it's just as miserable outside. I am not a summer fan, especially when it starts this aggressively. I really liked the year it was still windy and kinda chilly right up until July.
Anyway, I really need work to fix their AC tomorrow/today (Monday) because if they don't, I really might keel over.
Lesse. I've been good on the shinies at work department. We got the Color Jolts a few weeks ago and half of the Loaded Bolds and while they were part of the buy one, get one halfsies sale last week, I decided I'd wait and see if the WnW stuff I wanted would show up... only to be told that inventory is earlier than usual this year. Sigh. We also have the Color Tattoo eyeshadow... thingies that I'm too lazy to look up. Alas, they are also not ringing up any fun sales so I'm waiting for those as well. They do look like fun, however, so I'm hopeful.
I did manage to snag three of the Simple face wipes that I really like for about $8 plus tax. I love combining two sales and getting a great deal. :D
Oh, and I got at least part of my birthday vacation this year. We'll see how much I actually wind up with. Less than two weeks to go til I'm super old and stuff.
