I can't tell if my Torrid order is lost or they just gave me an invalid tracking number and the package out for delivery now is the stuff in question. I'd be annoyed if it was just stuff for me, but it's got the big part of my present for Cass and a surprise for Mums so I'd really like it to show up, y'know? Also, I hear dealing with Torrid's customer service is almost as bad as having to deal with Sephora's. :P
eta: Since this post is mostly from Saturday, Sunday!me can weigh in on some points. Like this. The mystery package was a book I won either from LibraryThing or Goodreads. Surprise books are always nice but when you're hoping for a box/bag of gifts, it's a little annoying. I sent another FB message to the Torrid account and they replied with "well, it's Sunday so let's wait 24 hours to see if there's any movement, mmkay?" To which I say I don't mind the wait til Monday, but only because I don't think UPS does much they let you know about on the weekends. That said, the tracking info hasn't updated since the 5th anyway so... I don't think waiting any longer is going to make it magically move, ok?
Speaking of Sephora, let's discuss makeup again, shall we? I'm currently being lazy and not painting my right hand while my left actually looks pretty good... I'm just lazy. Also, I thought I wanted the holo glitter but once I put it on I realized I was wrong.
Sigh.
Yesterday I noticed a little blurb in our ad about new Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit lip gloss/stick/who knows because it's just a picture, but the great and powerful
luxken27 broke out the google-fu and showed me swatches and then last night at work, the display appeared! I bought two. Because I never tried the fall shades (there were four and I had no interest in two, so naturally those two lingered FOREVER while the other two sold out ASAP) I wanted to see how the matte version lived up to the more metallic one they did in the uh... spring, was it? I'm not a huge matte lipstick person but a lot of the things I dislike have been taken out of the equation in certain formulas. Not all are drying as hell (obviously quite a few still are), nor do all settle in every line your lips have ever considered having.
Unfortunately, matte lips are really unforgiving on me in terms of colors, so I have to choose very, very carefully. And while I can accidentally pick "my lips but better" in every other finish known to man/woman/or feline kind, in liquid lipstick form, I fail EVERY TIME. I always pick the one that is too brown or too peach (in a make your teeth yellow way) or somehow turns bubble gum pink, or what fresh hell is this, why is this the same color as my skin, how is that what even why whyyyyyyyyyyy. Really, nudes are the devil is my point.
Still, for science!
eta: Sunday!me can confirm that I still can't pick the right nude, dammit. I don't know why I'd have chosen Nudist Peach but I did and it's a very pretty color, but peach does terrible things to not blindingly white teeth so... yeah. I do like the formula since it's not drying at all. I think it's better than wearing nothing, and with mattes you can't usually say that. it lasted a fairly long time and I mostly forgot I was wearing it, in a good way. Just need to find a better shade, so here's hoping Berry Recognize is a better bet for me.
I've been eying the new L'Oreal Lip Paints because there's a veritable rainbow going on in the display. I mean, technically no yellow, but we've got reds, oranges, blue, teal, purples, and pinks, so it's pretty damn colorful over there. However, I waited long enough for the internet to pick this one up and run with it and I know that most of the colors are basically what you see on the package and that I am not cool enough to pull them off. And I think we just discussed the nude dilemma, and the pinks are oh hell no for me. (Bubble gum and fuschia, I think? Or is it barbie pink?) Besides, I sniffed one in store (safety seals, L'Oreal, use them) and it smells like every other lipstick they do: floral hell. :/ So why do I still want to try them?
Revlon's got eyeshadows and HD Lip...things in pretty colorful tubes that remind me of the ones I used to love from um... Maybelline, maybe? Yeah, I think it was them. I tried their lip balm in the apple scent/shade and I love it for the first ten seconds I have it on, or when I sniff it, but then it turns weird scent/taste wise and I'm thinking I'm the only one to have this issue because I haven't seen anyone else discussing it online. I wonder if it's just the apple one or....
Don't give two flying fucks about eyebrows because I'm so used to myself without them that when I tried out some sample I got from Sephora or Birchbox, I was so startled to see my eyebrows that I freaked out.
Neutrogena's got new lip shine things out and some lip treatment, so that's a thing.
While I'm ready for new makeup launches (so much to look at!), I am not ready for all the magazines to switch to winter getaway things. Dude, I look forward to the three days of winter we get, so no... I don't want to see your covers going all "beach in January, it's a thing!" because of course it's a thing. But it's boring as hell when you deal with it all the time.
Sunday natterings: Finally dragged the tree out but since I had to do it, I'm now itching like a fiend. It's pretty though, but the Benedryl is knocking me for a loop so everything's a foggy blur. Also, I think I missed one of the plugs because part of the tree isn't lit up. But I don't feel like scratching my arms off so I'm gonna let someone else find it.
Gonna sleep. Tomorrow we'll have natterings of other things.
