Not my picture, obviously, but I do actually have this. It's from one of the dollar stores and I covered mine in black and orange glitter because OF COURSE I did. It's got to be from 2012 at the latest and it's still holding up really well considering it's cardboard. From a dollar store.

Onward. Today has indeed been a mixed bag, from the Vegas fuckery to Tom Petty's Not Dead Yet (but almost?) saga, and my venturing out into the world in between. I don't have much to say about the shooting because I can't wrap my head around that kind of senseless violence and the way people hear about that and immediately cling to their guns and act like this is an isolated incident. We'll save the Tom Petty anecdote for if and when we go from kinda-sorta-maybe-probably-but-wish-not to confirmed.

I will say that as I tried to make heads or tails of the Tom Petty situation, I stumbled across my brother's ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend being dragged to hell and back on FB and deservedly so. I gather he started shit talking someone on some FB community that I would dearly love to forget exists and they clapped back and then he went and got super nasty. Like threatening to do things that would get you put on a list and repeatedly telling someone (more than one person? I dunno, I lost track) to kill themselves. I could be wrong and they could've started it but there are lines we do not cross, dude, and you not only crossed those lines but you set them on fire. Anyway, the gf was less than pleased and instead of publicly saying WTF, dude, she also attempted to fuss at the asshats in this comm and it did not go well. There are things you do not stand by your man saying and he pretty much said all of them. So the people of the comm went in on both of them and I'd like to say I feel bad but the stuff he said was pretty awful so... eh?

And we shall end on the fluffy note. Went to Target this morning with Mums. The curse of Target still rings true in that it's pretty much impossible to leave without spending $50. To be fair, some of that was cat litter and other stuff I actually went in for. Glue dots to hang my army of bats! And one of those command strip hooks for my new shower head. Oh, and Mom found her pumpkin spice cereal there so we got that. Sadly, in the two weeks, if that, since I went in looking for Halloween before, they went from nothing out besides creepy unicorn heads to picked over selection. :/ I sort of played with a couple of things but nothing I'd want to buy aside from a couple of really awesome lights (one looks like a flickering flame). I think I bought maybe four Halloween things, and one of those was a bag of chocolate. :P

While Mums was putting the stuff in the car, I ventured into the mall and headed down to BBW to use my free fun size item coupon. Which is clearly a sham because they had like 12 fun size things and not a single one of them was fall goodness. Because fall was 50 cents too expensive. :/ I wound up with their stupid aromatherapy stress relief lotion that I think they had awhile ago. I dunno. I did buy a tiny little candle (if you've got it, haunt it) and candle magnet witch's hat to use my 20% off coupon as well.

Then we went to Joann's where I realized Cass was not kidding when she said ours sucks compared to Summerville's. Nothing spoke to me enough to buy so I went down to Kohl's to look for the special snowflake dress they've got for the Wellies. This one. If you see it, let me know? It's one of the few WW things I actually want. Naturally since I want it, we didn't have it. Hell, we didn't seem to have much of anything in the way of Wellie Wisher stuff. A sea of Tenney and a display with Tenney and Logan but like three WW dolls and that was it. Fell in love with one of their Big One blankets but not enough to buy it yet.

Next stop: Walmart. Where it literally went from no Halloween at all to picked over insanity and nothing in between. I found only one thing I wanted or even liked enough to buy and of course it was pretty pricey all things considered. But it's awesome. Fine, I also bought some glow sticks because I love me some glow sticks. But other than that, it was all food and normal stuff.

Basically, this year disappointed me with the Halloween selection everywhere. That said, it meant that the stuff I bought, I really, really liked.
