Mar. 18th, 2018 01:00 pmMy computer has been acting up lately, so this morning after work I decided to see what I could do. Attempts to defrag the sucker were thwarted by a popup message that seemed to offer me a solution and then nothing. Google then took me down several rabbit holes until I found the terrible, terrible truth.
Turns out that eons ago whenever Microsoft forced the Win 10 update on me (that I promptly rolled back), it messed up all kinds of things on my computer... which I then had to look around for how to fix without needing to spend the next week chained to my computer. Alas, the exceptionally tech-y tend to be good with the programs but not so great with the walk-throughs, especially when they don't update the links when they move house. Sigh. Extra pissed that this is a known issue and they, I dunno, never rolled out an official fix themselves. Asshats.
But I got that mostly fixed, I think, and then spent the next forever and a day running the disk check. Oi. I'm so tired but for some reason I really, really want cake.
