Advice

If anyone's around and wants to offer advice on a clearly not life threatening decision, I'm all ears.

Someone on one of the boards gifted me with a 20% off coupon. HUZZAH! But as with most AG orders, I'm not sure what to buy. I have options, but I have to do my ordering today. Preferably before dinner, really.

A) Go whole hog and get Gabby, Luci, and perhaps an outfit or accessory or two, depending.
The downside to this is that I'm not sure I want two dolls right now but I also know from last year that I am highly unlikely to get to order another doll later in the year... unless there's a fabulous sale and I have money at the same time. The upside is that this will definitely push me over my limit to keep Berry status (woo?) and y'know, dolls.

B) Get Gabby and some outfits/things I've been meaning to buy.
Luci should be around for more than a year (her pages all say so) and the thing I want MOST from Luci's collection is backordered til doomsday.

C) Go BIG and order a most likely backordered til god only knows when custom. This is probably my only real chance to order one.
The downsides to this are as follows: she'll be backordered. Likely for months. So I will have to remember to keep an ungodly sum set aside for her. I won't get my rewards points til she ships and that, as I said, will likely be four billion years from now. I'm not really fond of the cost cutting corners they took with the CYO line. The wigs I gather are super hit or miss, the people assembling these dolls are clearly either not drunk enough to get it right or too drunk (the eye wonk is real) and my favorite outfit sold out and shows no sign of returning. Plus the weird spots on the light vinyl kinda freak me out.
But man, I have fallen in love with the idea of a couple of CYOs. I do know I will likely not be buying any of the Jess CYOs because while I love the idea of so many different Jess options, the reality is that almost every single CYO I've seen with this mold is looking down and it is not a cute look to me. In fact, I've only seen one (not that I've been looking lately) that I thought, "That. I want THAT doll." And I think that was one that's pretty easily duped without going the CYO route.


Holycrapmuffins. I was fiddling with the CYO maker to see just how backordered she'd be and um, the one I went with? Not backordered if I don't get the accessory set I wanted more.
That's a lot of reasons not to go with the CYO. Still, I waffle. It doesn't help that the site is being a PITA.

Update to my earlier post

Update for those who might've wondered how I frittered away my money and code.

I spent most of the morning and early afternoon thinking I would actually go the CYO route. But after I finally had to discuss it with someone (and Cass, I assume, fell asleep) Mums pointed out that the vinyl issue, even if it's one AG will fix for free, is probably not something I want to deal with anytime soon. And she is correct. Also, even with a coupon they are freakin' expensive. Perhaps I will get lucky and in the future get a coupon of my own and have Rewards to use. That might do the trick.

Anyway, I went with Gabby and her accessories (because that bag remains awesome and also ebay seems to have not gotten the memo that Gabby and her stuff mostly survived through til 2018 at least), the "limited edition" star spangled gear because it's cute as hell, Luci's stellar outfit (the jacket and shorts), and Z's filming accessories.

Honestly, I'm kind of surprised because my spring/late winter order is usually Historically bent and this time nada. I meant to grab Josefina's blue dress and waffled on Nanea's new stuff but ultimately decided to wait for now.

Pretty happy with my order and I'm impatiently waiting now. :P Which might've been another reason I didn't go the CYO route. Waiting for her to be assembled would've driven me nuuuuuuuuuuts.
