Oooh. Ahh. Shiny.

Gabby arrived yesterday but I didn't open her til today. Ozma was most interested in her box and Gabby and I watched in amusement as she hopped in and out of said box.

And now the mystery purchase:
Friday I was checking my email and noticed a free shipping thing from Disney. I looked around to see if anything caught my eye and found this Zero Light Up Bookend Set when peeking at the NBC stuff. I'm not the biggest NBC fan out there by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy the film and I've got some merch here and there. It's been ages, however, since I've been struck by an immediate, "Want. NOW!" for an NBC thing for me. Alas, that price. I mean, seriously, $75? Are you mad, Disney?

So I sulked for a minute, sent the link to Cass, and then got the bright idea to see if it was for sale elsewhere. Hot Topic had it but it was sold out... but Amazon had my back. And for about $50, which is still ouch. BUT I cashed in my Mypoints and my credit card points and got it for under $10. Huzzah!

Still, wasn't sure I'd like it, y'know? I figured for that price it was worth a shot (sorry, Z) and if I didn't like it, I'm pretty sure Cass would take it off my hands. It arrived today and I have some thoughts.
1) When ordering not from Amazon directly, be careful because this thing was shipped in its display box which isn't even tape sealed so anything coulda happened. o_O
2) It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that I didn't NEED to find a teeny tiny screwdriver (mine always goes missing when I need it!) because once you pulled the tabs you simply needed to switch the book ends 'on' AND then press the weird button above Zero's tail... and in the corner of the book cover for Zero's head. Seriously, it took too long. SO. Long.
