Figure I might as well finish the roundup with the Wellies and Bitty stuff. Also, a quick update on the rest of the release:
Confirmed that 78, 79, 80 all have new skin tones. You can now pick your doll by skin tone on the AG site (Wellies and Bitties allegedly have their own? Who knew?) and I've seen a couple of pictures of 78 (the new paler blonde) where you can tell. It's not super obvious, but it is a difference. 80's darker than Addy and I've still yet to find any compelling pictures that make 79's skin tone look different but she is also the doll this would be most difficult to tell given AG's lighting and setup both do terrible things to pictures. If the company and people who've actually seen it in person say so, I'm willing to roll with it.

Ooh, sale.

Well, that's odd. I don't tend to sleep through the mornings unless I'm sick (and not even then) or I come home exhausted and just kind of flump into bed. Not this morning. I went down around 5:30-ish and fully expected to be woken up during the rush to get Widget up and out of the house and... nothing. So either he was better behaved than I expected or I was dead to the world.

Eventually, just before noon, the cat woke me up with a pitiful, "feeeeeeeeeeeeed meeeeeeee?" So I did and then I remembered Scentsy is having their clearance sale so I popped over there. I did miss the bar I wanted to get Mums because I dithered about the price (Scentsy's shipping is ridiculous though I'm not as mad about it in the summer since they ship with ice pack things to keep your stuff from melting) but I did manage to snag this for $8:

Not the tabletop base, of course, but the warmer. I debated a couple of others, like the Mr. Bones glow in the dark from last year, and that Maple Leaf but ultimately neither spoke to me loudly enough. (Translation: not cheap enough for me to overlook the fact that I do not need another warmer.) The House on Haunted Hill warmer is still kicking around. It's been years and they still can't unload it and yet they never mark it down as cheaply as other things. I do not understand. I might be baffled even more so since I spent full price on that bastard years ago and it has been on sale ever since. :P I snagged a random bar and two scent packs I know I'll like because I've bought them before and then I got out of there. Not sure if I'm hoping tomorrow brings stuff I want or not. I did seriously debate non-Halloween things but again, I don't need a warmer. Even if they're pretty as hell.

Mums and Widget are home so I'm off to see how things went.

Flying over the shark

26. Jump the shark moment:

Look, I love the Evil Twin and it is my most re-read book in the series, but it is definitely the moment they jumped the shark. I mean, technically Sam and Liz getting drunk off the smallest amount of alcohol in the known universe is the moment things really kick into gear but I get the feeling it was reverse engineered. Someone wanted the evil twin and needed a way to have the twins fall prey to it, so you kill Sam, have Liz think she did it, have Jess know she was guilty and then go from there. It's all part of the same arc so I figure it all counts. I suppose that means my technical answer is The Evil Twin arc, starting with A Night to Remember.

The series basically could have ended here and it would have worked. It's batshit crazy but in the best possible way.
