Sep. 2nd, 2018 07:16 amOh for fuck's sake. Went to the baby shower yesterday. Even had a good time for most of it, though I could've done without it going into overtime (why she thought she'd be in and out in under 2 hours is beyond me but hey, wishful thinking?) because by then I was turning into a puddle of sweat. I didn't even shrink away when it came time for pictures. Granted I was only brought into one little tiny group but still. I thought I looked cute enough and had people tell me so even.
So imagine my joy at seeing the picture chosen for me. I don't know if Toni literally only took one picture and thought, "welp, derp face is just fine for this person I've just been told is her oldest friend, off to take 500 pictures of literally everyone else but I shall never swing back by this person again" or if that was the best or what. Dude, if someone is making a stupid face and obviously don't know it, maybe take another freakin' picture or use another one if you did?
You can count the number of pictures of me out there with anyone on one hand and probably have a finger or two left over because I am not, repeat not, photogenic, but I don't need any help with looking worse. Everyone else is looking cute as can be and then there's me. I could even handle just looking normally blergh (see non-photogenic, remember) but nope. I was making some face at someone's kid and there we go.
I don't think this would bother me if I were in other pictures or had been over the years but I am conspicuously absent from most photos and it's not always by choice. As in, for the last ten or so years if you say hey, let's get a picture, I'll say sure and make the best of it.
I suppose I should just tell myself that it doesn't matter anyway because it kind of doesn't, and Mom's is cute, and really half the photos there are to piss off someone who isn't allowed in Cass's life anymore anyway. *shrug*
I might be overly touchy because I got about two hours of sleep yesterday. But, on the flipside, work had unleashed Halloween while I was gone so I got to admire it. Sorta. I only wanted about three things right off the bat and I bought two of them. I've mentioned I have a thing for the Squishmallows and they had four of the Halloween characters. I snagged a medium and a smaller version of the black cat, Autumn. ♥
Now to find something to eat and head up to bed, I think.
