Flu shot and shopping
Oct. 3rd, 2018 11:37 amI have a million nail polishes, right? To the point that I've declared myself unable to wear any of mine again this season once they come off/I take them off. It's a one and done season, dammit, and I could probably paint each nail a different color and still adhere to the rule and still not run out of polishes before Christmas. Probably. Maybe that would actually do it. Anyway, point is, I have a lot.
So naturally at work I bought a clearance WnW gel polish (Power Outage, I believe) and the I got home and remembered to check Vampy Varnish's site because her IG had previewed a really gorgeous color and um... I just bought three more polishes online. The one that started this mess is Black to Reality which is so pretty I'm gonna die. "Blackened cherry red shimmer." SOLD.
And while I was there, I checked out her post on the China Glaze Paint it Black Halloween Collection and promptly fell in love with Ash & Burn and one she didn't have, Maliboo-Boo. Sooooooooo... I think we can see the theme for the rest of the month, eh?
Day 3, Pumpkin. I live in Satan's armpit so we don't even think about buying a pumpkin until maybe a week before Halloween. Probably less, unless we've gotten a cold snap or someone's taken me to the pumpkin patch. If you do tempt fate and buy it early, it will rot well before you get a chance to carve it. And let us not even consider what would happen if you carved it any earlier than Halloween afternoon. (Mold. You'll get mold before it's even showtime.)
OH! And I think yesterday or maybe Friday is the anniversary of the day I was kicked out of Cass and Ari's house for being a witch. I guess kicked out is a little harsh, but my invitation to stay while we were waiting for our new house to close was immediately revoked upon discovery of a book of spells that I was using as research for something I was writing. Also, I was reading the myths contained within. And how or why do I remember this?
1) It's not every day you get kicked out for being a witch when you are, alas, not.
2) It was right before the day Charmed premiered and that is Oct 7th and yes, we are gonna celebrate.
In a fitting twist of fate, their mother is now way more open-minded about various religions. And in a stunning twist of WTF, that same year she went to a Sabbat at the Circular Congregational Church and learned what the word skyclad means. Man, 1998 had a weird Halloween.
